Go back to my posts pre takeover. I was begging for him.
  2. Massive opportunity for him as well as us. Praying it goes as well as Rodgers did at Leicester in the games he had in 18-19 this year and in 19-20 in the future. Main quotes for me from that article are these from Simon Francis; "I think the fans want something to get behind a team that's going to create chances, and I can almost guarantee that that will happen." "I think the Newcastle fans will see a difference almost in the first game. They want something to get behind, a team that's going to create chances, and I can almost guarantee that that will happen."

  4. Only Charnley and the SD signs left of the Ashley era. What I'm most excited for is that Howe will actually improve our players and we have players desperate for that level of coaching; Lewis, Willock, the Longstaffs. Individuals will improve along with the team and the football. Both hate and love the fact it's an international break now, 2 bloody weeks until Brentford but plenty of time for Howe to get his ideas across and start the work that is so desperately needed. HTL.

Howe relegated them from the PL, siuuuuuu
  6. Says on this that tended to come in for training at 6:30am. Culture shock for the lazy cunts in the squad incoming. Good. Reminds me a bit of when Benitez went into the ground, signed contract and done photos, then went straight to the training ground and got the players in for training.
  7. Even though it's been obvious Howe was going to be the new manager, can't wait for this now.

"Spent a shitload at Bournemouth and went down. If someone gave me the choice between Howe and Lee Johnson I'd pick Johnson every day of the week." Bound to be a post like that on there. ^

  10. .com say he is. Was only a second yellow anyway.
  11. Dubravka, Schar, Lewis, Hendrick and Krafth are the only ones away.
  12. Yeah, teams tend to double, maybe even triple up on him. If he's out wide he drags those defenders out to the wing to create space for Wilson or a late runner in Willock or Almiron. When he's in the middle he doesn't have anywhere near that impact. ASM is a winger, a bloody good one. Not a number 10 or CF.
  13. People took to him because it gave us another stick to hit Bruce with when he came in and the team immediately had that performance away at Everton. But overall I'm far from convinced of him as a coach because no one has improved one bit. The 3 games he's taken; Palace - lucky to get a point, Benteke should probably have had a hattrick. Chelsea - embarrassingly bad, not one semblance of an attacking threat. I understand how good Chelsea are but that was a mess; the performance, tactical set up, everything. Dreadful. Brighton - First half is one of the most embarrassed I've ever been watching Newcastle, it was an absolute disgrace. Improved second half and should've won it really, but on the whole still meh. 2 points from those 3 games is probably more than we'd have gotten under Bruce, but fuck me. The plan has clearly been to keep games at 0-0 or 1-0 until around the 70th minute then try and shithouse something.

    Joelinton

Aye, think he did well when he came on. Thought he would've been useful v Chelsea given how much we were hoofing it, and hoofing to Wilson v Rüdiger, Thiago Silva and Christensen was utterly braindead.
  15. Probably exactly the same as the OP, but I want to see Lewis get some decent coaching for once so I'd play him too.
  16. He's just lacking confidence imo. Also is consistently being played out of position, when his best games in both performances and output have been in the #10: his actual position.
  17. I've just thought that with him being at the game yesterday, he'll have travelled up with Tindall today to get contracts signed, interviews and pictures done, house hunting starting. If it's stalled due to the staff thing then, fuck me.
