He won't be there in 2020.

What a guy. If he goes, I wish him nothing but the absolute best.

In all seriousness, top post and how I feel pretty much too.

Managed to get a couple of tickets in the away end. Yesterday and today on the drink with wor lass, match awesome, thought Shelvey stood out as particularly awesome amongst a generally awesome bunch of performances. Hope to God that this isn't another feeling of false optimism like after we humped Chelsea at the end of last season.

Ben Arfa's penalty though. Oof. -
Winner of Leeds v Derby.

When reading some of the .com reports that pop up on the On This Day section of the home page from like between 1996 and 2005 they seemed to be far more opinionated in match reports than they do now.

From what I've heard (as I was only 3 going on 4 year old at the time ) was that a large section of fans had had enough after the performance in Marseille and that being our 15th draw in a season which the football became a bit dour. Whether that was down to Sir Bobby, the people above him or the players' performances I don't know.

Quoting it again just for the sake of it. Perfectly put. As much as dislike Liverpool, Ashley would not have survived (probably even literally) his first lie there. Probably a bit delewdid jawdee here, but would it even take us much to push the top 6 with this manager and the right backing behind him? And that's not even astronomical money, just what the club gets from the TV deal every season in the summer? When clubs are bigged up for pushing the top clubs the counter argument thrown at it is there is no way the other 14 teams in the PL can compete with the spends of the top 6, but I don't think that argument is all that for clubs like us, Everton or by the looks of things (unfortunately), Wolves. However much money the Manchester clubs spend, the big teams in London spend, Liverpool spend, should have no bearing on whether we can beat the likes of Palace, Bournemouth, the promoted clubs, Burnley, teams of that ilk, more often than not home and away. And it's not so much that the club would have spend due to the quality of manager that's fallen into their laps to get there; getting 55+ points throughout a season which gives you a shout of Europe. Fucking Ashley, man.

Never got it and never will. Same.

I know we can't do much if his heart is set on finding a new challenge but if Rafa's staying I'd much rather we kept him. If we sell him for £25m the buying club'll be allowed to spread the fee over something like 5 years by the cunts above the manager. There you go Rafa, an extra £5m to your WAR CHEST to have us prepare a bid and ultimately fail to get someone nowhere near as good for ≤£10m.
-
How many points clear were they after we beat Man City? Those Leicester and West Ham draws look like the two killers. Hard to bring myself to say they choked it given their 1 defeat all season and potential 97(!) points total.
-
'But those sad Geordies raised their game against us. Hope [insert bad thing that could happen to Newcastle United, ie Rafa leaving, Ashley staying forever, here].'
-
Man City have been crap so far by their standards.
-
18 pages on a banner from one of our games ffs, while they've finished 5th in League One and potentially face another season there. Perpetuating the hilarious myths such as the cabal of mysterious Geordie businessmen, all mags south of the Tyne were all mackems before 1992, Magedia etc. From 'Love leyg one me like' to 'FAYEWWWMIN Almiron is a horrid forrin and Durham Catheydrul is ours' in the space of a few weeks. Comical.

Your Newcastle United player of the season 18/19

Between Schär, Dubravka, Rondón or Perez for me. Probably Rondón, he's been the perfect striker for Rafa's system. Get some better players around him and we're cooking on gas. -

Something ridiculous will definitely happen. I know of about 5 or 6 knackers who are doing the boat trip. It's been organised by that FEV created mutant who did that "united by cancer" banner that flew over a mackem game. Bound to be fucking embarrassing. -
Because of the Liverpool connection I doubt that he'd ever manage those cunts. Fans won't like him either due to style of play, not the 'Man Utd way'.
-
Oh aye, the mysterious incognito cabal of Tyneside businessmen who diverted commerce away from Wearside to Tyneside to increase Newcastle's importance and negate Sunderland's in collaboration with the North Sea and Sky.
-
Just seen that Game of Thrones commentary thing. FUCK ME.
-
Who cares even if we did raise our game? If you want to be one of the big boys, it’s something you have to accept and cope with. Don’t think I saw anyone of us complaining about it in the championship. The mongs on RAWK, evidently.
-
Because we scored immediately after I can sort of understand the Alexander-Arnold thing, but he should've been booked, but wasn't. The Fabinho dive though, fucking hell, so bad. Could tell from my seat that it was a dive yet the bald nonce of a linesman 5 feet away couldn't see it. Awful. Warnock was right.
