  1. Was just about to post this. clearly he was the worst, but I didn't really expect anything more than he produced, so he wasn't really a disappointment. My expectations of Pardew were higher on account of his being an actual manager, but relatively speaking they were as low as Carver. He actually surprised me [for a brief period] but ultimately lived up to expectations. Personally I think they're all in the same ball park of ineptitude. The only qualification they have to manage a football club is the ability to count to eleven [and I'm being very generous to Kinnear]. The very fact that Kinnear is in that list and the question is still debatable says all you need to know about this club under Ashley.
  2. Surprised. Thought they’d just drop the price. Saw it on the news earlier and they weren't very clear. I think they said it was to be scrapped, but then they elaborated on the headline by saying the "£15 fee had been dropped". Which could mean the same thing, but it's a weird way of saying it.
  3. That is always my response, but every time I see the goal against Villa I'm blown away by it. You expect him to put his boot through it and he just guides it into the corner. His goal against Everton is a pretty straightforward technique which he executes impeccably. His Villa goal sits well with Cisse's second v Swansea, in that he just decides to do something different.
  4. Ole is a weird choice, but it's clear that the Glazers are happy with him. Somebody mentioned that Man U are similar to ourselves and I agree. Only Man U's minimum accepted level is higher than ours.
  5. Possibly. He's scored a lot of goals that could be argued are his best, and certainly look more spectacular, but the casual manner in which he strikes the ball is just sick.
  6. Yeah. The thing with Defoe is how clubs utilise him. Smaller clubs buy him for his prolific scoring, and if he's not in the box, somebody else is. Whenever I saw him for England he looked far more like a complete forward.
  7. Haven't seen it, but 'playing for the penalty' is fast becoming an integral part of the game. Easiest solution would be to give 6 points for a goal and 3 for a penalty. Maybe we could get some extra adverts in if we gave a point after penalty for the goal. All these extra complications will lead to many more talking points so we should probably have more half-times to accommodate.
  8. If you're really Bruce in disguise, it's a great disguise.
  9. Not really. Looks to me like they come together, and the player starts letting his mouth go, so Pearson keeps hold of him so he can finish his abuse. Seen doormen do it loads of times.
  10. Had a shot conversion rate of 33%, Messi by comparison who was arguably at his absolute peak was only 20%. He scored arguably the best goal I’ve seen from a header for Senegal too which went largely unnoticed From outside the box if I remember correctly.
  11. Saint-Maximin. Yeah he is shit nothing to do with the fact he needs to be played out wide as he gets no space when central. Bruve gives him a free role as he knows he is our best player but just doesn't understand how to get the best out of him. It's on the left far up breaking at pace and cutting in and scoring a thunderbastard etc or breaking into the box. Agree. He needs to be able to get the defence on the run. Difficult from the middle.
  12. Just going to say Cisse's second against Swansea stands out for the way he readjusts himself. but most of his goals stand out for something.

    Jacob Murphy

Nah man. He needs that variety in order to carry out his expansive knowledge of different tactical formations.
  14. Wilson cheated. It’s a modern day penalty for sure. We’ve had other players cheat us over previous seasons which justifies this act of cheating. Fixed it for you How did he cheat? He got in front of his man and was kicked on the leg. Did you see Saha penalty, the guy brushed his sock and Saha screamed and threw himself down. Difference between the two is massive. No cheating from Wilson, just knows the rules......you can't be kicked from behind! We've had an awful long time of ex-pros, in the studio, applauding the less sportsmanlike behaviours in the game. It's changed attitudes. The result is more contentious issues upon which games can be decided. You'll see very little consistency on these issues.
  15. Ooh. this is getting almost as exciting as when Liam and Robbie were going to have a fight.
  16. Why does the Dummett/shola/ Lee combination not work with the conditions?
  17. Christ... Pardew, Carver AND Bruce all appearing at the same match. It looks to me like Bruce approaches Pardew and asks him if he's alright.
  18. Just goes out to tea with a full camera crew in tow.
  19. I have my suspicions that it might be you.
  20. Man U Chelsea Arsenal Spurs Everton Liverpool The next three most appearances are the three clubs hat Parry mentions. Then it's Man City.
  21. I doubt it. I'm sure 90% is just average, boring crap that gets a rise out of no-one.
  22. Agree that if clubs change their minds they shouldnt be allowed straight back into their domestic leagues. But what about transfer fees and wages. Both of these are already distorted without the super league. Superleague wages will be astronomically high. Who outside of the superleague, is gonna buy a player from that league using their reduced tv rights budget?? When they say its a closed shop, that could be exactly what they mean. for clubs and players. Not necessarily. Player contracts will end and they will become free agents. The ball is then in their court as to how much they're prepared to play for.
  23. The very thought of Steve Bruce questioning his athleticism.
