Bottom (albeit jointly) at Christmas. We all know how that ends 9.5 times out of ten. Not to mention we need to achieve something that’s never been achieved before to stay up; that is to stay up after failing to win any of the opening 14 games. All the signs are against us. It’s extremely likely that we’re down, even with some good additions in January.

Leicester City 4 - 0 Newcastle United (12/12/2021)

I think I saw some folk here talk about us being the ones to win four nil . A small minority of people of this board are completely oblivious to how shit we are. The worst team in the league right now, being bottom at Christmas (which looks likely now) will prove that. -
If we don’t beat Burnley, then we’re most definitely going to be bottom at Christmas, and we all know how rare it is to survive after being in that situation. You'd have to be exceptionally optimistic to think it’s not likely we’re going down now.

Newcastle United 1 - 1 Norwich City (30/11/2021)

Surely even the most optimistic fan on this board can't think it's more likely than not we're staying up if we don't win this. -
A solid ten. Premier League delayed the takeover long enough to get what they wanted. We’re so fucked. Even signed ten world-class players in January would probably not be enough to save us.

He obviously done a miraculous job at Bournemouth, but overspending on primma donnas brought them back down to the championship. I am not sure how much of that was down to Howe.
-
We're nailed on to go down with the current squad, the majority just aren't good enough. Unless we do hire a world-class manager again, or bring in lots of quality in January; it's only going one way. Hell, even bringing in better players in January might not work if we keep being this shit (see West Brom last season).

We're shit right now, but I don't believe we'll ever be 'lose 5-1 to Rotherham' shit.

“True market value” is so widely open to interpretation, too. Who decides “true market value”, how is it assessed, is it assessed the same for everyone, etc. There’s so much to decide what does/doesn’t add/subtract from true market value in the context. Also, what independent market experts will be employed to determine it? It’s such BS. Imagine the firm I work in being offered a €5 million sponsorship deal in the morning, and the firm down the road from us protest and say “You can’t have that; it makes you more rich than us and gives you an advantage”. We’d laugh in their face, and even joke that they can try sue us for securing a better backing than them. Get fucked is what all these clubs shitting their pants at stronger competition can do.

If by some mad lunacy they did end up hiring Bruce, it would be fantastic. Finally, when he’s shat all over one of the biggest clubs in world football, everyone might finally see how bad he is.
-
Every day that passes I get more and more annoyed that this cunt isn’t gone yet. We need change, and it needs to come fast. Right now we’re on a fast track to relegation, we won’t win another match with Bruce in charge, we don’t have time to fuck around. This indecisiveness and/or time biding is costing us crucial points, and that will include any points from Saturday if he’s still there.
-
Surely he’s getting the boot after this. He’s got to. It’s very early days, but even still I’d be concerned about the decision-making of our new owners if he’s not binned immediately after this. There hasn’t been a better display of his incompetence as a manager. Every game with him in charge is another step towards championship football again.

The league’s big tv money pot is significantly funded by BEIN from Qatar, which is another country with questionable human rights issue. Yet, they don’t seem to be bothered about them funding the league. Scumbags.

I have to say, they’ve really not disappointed. Their rage, jealousy, and general fewwm is the best part of all this. I am enjoying all their crying the most out of everything so far. Their meltdown couldn’t be more hilarious. 8,000 posts of them fuming .

Foreign supporter. I was a 15-year-old when the FCB took over. The Newcastle I grew up with in childhood were the Keegan and Bobby Robson teams; the last good times the club’s ever had. The Newcastle I grew up with has taken away from me in 2007. In it’s place came a failure prone, unambitious, club that wasn’t even a shell of its former self. I stuck with the club all through my teens and adult year to date. I had people question my dedication in the bad years, why I stuck them through failure. Those people don’t understand what makes Newcastle such a special club. Today, it feels like the Newcastle I grew up with is coming home. It’s like if you dearly loved someone that left you, like a son gone to a long-term war, and you never thought they’d return; only to randomly see them return to your doorstep again 14 years later. They never sent any letters, you never got any contact from them, you’ve pretty much accepted they’re dead for years now. But they’re not, they’re still alive, and now they’re back. Such an indescribable joy.

I’m still on disbelief. It feels like I am in a football-driven dream, and I’ll wake up in a second and be like: “aww, it was just a dream”. I checked Skysports news at 5:30 before I left for home, there it was confirmed. I was the only one left in the office, and I took full opportunity to have a song and dance. I didn’t leave until six out of sheer delight and shock that it’s actually happened.

I refused to get carried away and excited until the hour they put pen to paper, and the deal is concluded. So right now I am having a hawkeye ‘don’t give me hope’ moment.
-
The old cliche: good teams find ways to win even when playing badly. Well, the opposite is true for us today. The bad teams find ways not to win even when they’ve had so much go their way. Watford did everything in their power to give us at least a two-goal head start at HT. Murphy at the end, too. That’s why we’re going down.
-
We’re going down. As bad as rhe bottom half of the leagues is; I don’t see three teams worse than ours. A long-term injury to ASM or Wilson and we might as well drop down now. At least we’ve some minor hope while we’ve those fit and playing. As further kick in the sack, Sunderland will be going up to meet us in the same league again.

I can forgive Brentford and their fans for going a bit OTT tonight. It’s their first top flight game in over half a century, first game with max fans at a new ground, and they’ve bossed it against a big club. Arsenal were awful, but you can’t take anything anyway from Brentford.
-
Nothing has ever summed up the lack of ambition this club has better than that 'top of our league' quote. Whoa.
-
Can we all please agree a rule to ban Twitter ITKs now and condemn them to he braindead thread? They’ve constantly proven to be full of shite.

Shearer is the GOAT but he was the world record transfer at the time. Today that 15 million would be €223 million.
-
Tim Krul must be in with a shout. Virtually cost nothing. Yohan Cabaye deserves a mention given how key he was for us. Four million was a steal. Ben Arfa was only 5 million, too. Even Saint Maximin could be considered. Under today’s standard, he’s a steal. I am going to go with Ben Arfa out of bias personal memories of loving him playing for us.
