  1. Props to Fulham. They know Liverpool are vulnerable and there for the taking, so they’ve took the game to them. As others mentioned, our coward of a manager would have everyone behind the ball praying for a 0-0.
  2. I believe we need another three wins and two draws to be safe, and I have no confidence in the current squad to even get that. It is looking bleak.
  3. Fair play to Rangers, this has been coming for two or three seasons now, but how embarrassing for Celtic. It’s not even ten years since Rangers were in Scottish League Two.
  4. RIP. Horrible thing to happen. Same thing is taking my uncle away within he next year, too. Absolutely horrible. I will fondly remember his short time in charge of us. We were unlucky to go out of the uefa cup that year, too. Damn the away goals rule.
  5. Loos like Fulham’s decent run has put us right back in the shits again, as I feared would happen. We’re going to be very lucky if we stay up, but we’ll likely just get relegated next season w/o a takeover. So long as Ashley is there it is only a matter of when, not if.
  6. Ah yes. The dreamboat. Fond memories of him playing for us. Don’t blame him for leaving a Pardew team. It was too late for his sake, though, as he’d already been Pardewed like Cisse, Santon, and a few others as it turned out. He was never as good again.
  7. Another FA cup final. This time against world-beating Tranmere. The fact a league two side got to final shows how little clubs take it serious. So the fact they somehow believe they’re a big club and took a non-competition like this dead serious is pathetic beyond belief.
  8. A 34-year-old Aidan Mcgeady looks like prime Messi in the league. Another two assists today. It really is embarrassing for a professional league.
  9. Apart from West Brom they couldn’t have handpicked anyone better to play to bounce back from a drubbing like that. 1-3.
  10. There could easily still be a close battle. Football is a very funny game, and things change very quickly in it. A decent run for Fulham, maybe even a really good run of results for West Brom out of the blue, combined with a bad run for us or the other sides around us; that could turn the heat up a notch. We still need five wins and a another draw to be sure we’re safe. Until we have got 38 points (the real safety mark going by all the recent seasons) we could be in a very similar pre-Everton situation at any point. I can see what Yorkie is saying to be honest. Take us for example, we went 11 games without winning, and only took 2 points in that time. We should have been caught in that time by at least one of those teams in the relegation zone. Fulham in the last few days have failed to beat Brighton, and WBA. They also failed to beat us whilst we had that poor run of form. As a consequence we are now 8 points ahead of Fulham, not far off from where were before our bad run. Brighton are now 7 points ahead of them and the closest team to them. WBA have so far failed to gain that new manager bounce they needed. Aye, I get the logic, and it’s sound logic; however, things can change very quick in football. If we lose tomorrow and against Soton then we could be right back in the same shits we looked to be before the Everton game. In my opinion it would be wrong to think we’re safe until we get at least a few more wins under our belt.

  12. At the moment with our form, it's got to at least be at an 8. We're in relegation form make no mistake. I still believe we'll find something and escape by our teeth's skin, but every match I begin to doubt it more and more now.
  13. That caught my eye, too. It’s like it was 2009 all over again and Villa had just relegated us with how deflated and dejected they looked. You wouldn’t think there’s still half the season to go.
  14. It may not be this season, we may scrape survival 2015 style, but I have said this even in the rafa days: as long as Mike Ashely owns the club it’s only a matter of when, not if, we get relegated again. The lack of ambition and investment has already bit us twice, and it will bite again.
  15. The reasoning the premier league are giving for the offside is, essentially; that the player didn’t challenge for the through ball (header). When Mings controls the ball with his chest, a new phase of play begins, and the player can challenge for the ball again legally. Either way, it is poor awareness from Mings and bad defending by Villa.
  16. Sp So essentially, going by that list we have eleven ‘winnable’ games left and winning 6 six of them could possible be enough (just about). I believe we’ll do it, but it is going to be close.
  17. Six more wins and a draw in the second half of the season will probably be enough. As shit as we are, we should be able to manage that in 21 games.
  18. This is the most Newcastle thing to ever happen. It could only be us. Any god awful, winless team in the future will be counting down the days until they play us. Easy three points.
  19. Even if this new owner did drop say 5-10m to invest in players, it doesn't guarantee anything. As we all saw with Will Griggs, when clubs know you're desperate and you've got cash, they'll do what they can to fleece you. Their best bet might be to try and buy the best talent in League One, but they'll even have competition from the leagues above at that.
  20. And you could argue it wouldn't have got so bad if were not for the ridiculous red card decision. Bilic at least had them playing some decent football and they could keep the ball. Fat Sam is playing a defensive game with a team that can't defend for their lives.
  21. Don't agree with most of this, all eras end at some stage. Aye, you’re right, but how many would end as quickly when you’ve been in such a advantageous position as Celtic? There’s been basically no competition from 2012 to 2019. This is only the third, arguably second season, of any real competition and they’ve already come tumbling down.
  22. I can't stop laughing every time I see the league table and Rangers so far ahead of Celtic. To let your fierce rivals get that far ahead of you after they were virtually idle for over five years and languished in the lower leagues for four; that takes a laughable level of incompetence from top to bottom. Also hilarious how they won’t sack Lennon because he’s a ‘Celtic man’
  23. Does his quote about only wanting to avoid relegation really surprise anyone. We all know that as long as Ashley is here this will be a deadbeat, unambitious club that merely wants 17th or higher every year. Staying in the league is the best we can hope for with such a money-grabbing unambitious owner. Had the takeover happened and new ambitious owners arrived, Bruce would not have lasted a wet day, and we all know that.
  24. I mean in today’s world it is stupid, especially in a professional context, to mention colour at all. Demba is right to question why he had to bring colour into it at all by mentioning black. He could have just said ‘this guy’ and not cause a storm. Especially when ‘Negru’ looks fairly close to the biggest No-No word.
  25. That has to be the most ridiculous VAR red card yet. I don’t understand for the life of me how you could class that as violent conduct. He’s not even looking at the player.
