  1. 3 massive home games in a row coming up after Spurs. Assuming Spurs best us, anything less than 3 points from them and we’re 100% back in the shit. We’d have to beat Norwich (carrow road being a bit of a bogey ground lately) and possibly hope to get a point or two from the others. I believe in Howe and co., but it’s not over yet.
  2. What a shit night. And it’s virtually kept the scouse mackems in the league, too. Wood is absolutely awful. He’s got the reaction speed of internet explorer running on an old windows 99 PC.
  3. The mackem scrote Pickword has well bottled it against us. The only illness os that we’re in his head haha!
  4. I believe they’ll issue a special license to sell the club, and one of the conditions is that the money must go into a sort of escrow account; this account being locked from being accessed by Abramovic for the foreseeable future at least.
  5. Burley are even worse than the Mackems back in the day for shithousing their way to survival each year. Another unflushable turd.
  6. Their record against Burton since going down really is poetic justice after the piss they took out of us when we went down last.
  7. He made a big mistake chasing another paycheque. Had he retired, his undeserved reputation of being a “solid” manager, and his media darling status; it would be untouched and remain in tact. Now he’s stupidity gone to another team, he will be exposed for the fraud he is, and us Newcastle fans will again be proven right. It’s Pardew all over again. Apparently we treated him unfairly, too. That was until he failed at both Palace (albeit after an initial decent start) and West Brom. West Brom are fast becoming the club where our bad managers go to prove us right.
  8. I’d agree with anyone suggesting Gerrard isn’t all he’s cracked up to be. Sure, he stopped Celtic’s ten, but they were beyond poor last season. Any of us could have managed Rangers and won the league last year.
  9. I’s a five for me. I was at a full on ten at the tail end of the Ashely era. It looked like there’d be no takeover, no hope. I’ve slowly started the healing process, but it’s going to take a long while before I can go above a five. Someday, I may have the same excitement, passion and enthusiasm I once had. It died a death sometime during the late Pardew days. That 2012 season is the last time I can remember loving being a fan.
  10. Does anybody else think that little break where the fan was being treated actually did us a world of good? Before then, Villa were way on top and had a goal disallowed by the slightest of margins. It seemed that it let us regroup again and get reorganised, Howe got a few words in on the touchline. Villa never really threatened again for the rest of the game. I am glad it was nothing bad that happened with the fan, too.
  11. Damn. I wanted Keaneo. There’s no way he’d do a good job there. Neil would do at least a good a job as Johnson, possibly even win the play-offs with them. Someone like him is the best they can do with the likes of Warnock uninterested.
  12. I imagine his contract, which he has to honour for his notice period, could have a clause that forbids him working with any competition during his employment. That would stop him from being able to work with us right away, unless he done it sneakily behind folks’ back.
  13. I’ve never before in my entire life seen a fanbase get so excited about signing a 39-year-old. The guy’s a football OAP ffs.
  14. I picked ten, because I straight up think we’ll either go down or stay up; I am choosing not to mess around with any middle ground, or I could be changing my mind every week. At the moment, I still think it’s more likely than not we go down, so ten it is. I obviously hope to god I am wrong.
  15. If this means we never have to see Clark in a Newcastle short again then it’s marvellous.
  16. 7. Good, but not great. We’ve got two high-quality players and three proper mid-table players. Have we improved the squad? Absolutely yes. Have we improved the squad significantly? Maybe not quite. Lacking another quality attack-minded player to have done that (CAM or ST). Am I feeling more confident of our survival chances? Yes. Maybe not hugely, I still think it will be very difficult, but we’ve a better chance now than on January 1st.
  17. I reckon they could get Paul Cook if they wanted. Despite his failures at Ipswich, he might do well at them. I'd hate for them to get Warnock. He'd bring them up and keep them up too. He's the best manager you can get for the level they're at.
  18. Class. Two quality signings in the bag. Two okay signings in Wood and Burn. One more quality player before Tuesday and I’ll be well pleased with the window.
  19. I am thinking Schar’s just stopped giving a fuck all together. It looks like one of the rare things Bruce might have got right is leaving him out. He’s out of contract in the summer, and his head’s clearly not here anymore. Outragous footballers can get away with attiudes like that while being paid more in a year than most probably make in a lifetime, but such is the way it’s gone.
  20. So anyone who wants a manager who comfortably kept us up with very limited resources, was loved by the fans, and improved all our shit players (who’ve all pretty much regressed since he left) back is a lunatic? Jesus. I can understand why you would want rafa back at the moment, but there are plenty of reason why we’d take him back, too. If he had more than ten games to get the shit together back in 2016, we would have stayed up for sure. We were playing pretty well those last 6 games or so we were unbeaten, too. Personally, if Howe was to prove not to be good enough and send us down with a whimper, I’d have him back in the summer.
  21. He’s was actually decent under Benitez and played good for his reign, but ever since he got hit with long covid last year he’s been complete dog shit.
  22. We’re so fucked. This squad of players are hopeless in this league. Howe seems like a decent manager, but it’d take a world-class coach to get us out of this mess, and he is far from that calibre.
  23. Personally, I don’t think he’ll prove to be worth that much. I hope you’re right and I am eating my words with a spoon come May (or even next season if he does well in the league below). I don’t think any other team in the league would have happily bid that for him unless they were in a desperate need like we are.
  24. There’s no doubt we’re overpaying for him, but we’re in a desperate situation and we’re fast running out of options. It’s inevitable we were going to be ripped off somehow in this window. Hopefully, he does bang in a few big goals for us and make the fee as worth it as it can be.
  25. Not sure we can be either positive or negative about this one. Kids only just come onto the scene. He could be a flop, just as likely he could be great. It’s a gamble, and I hope it pays off.
