Are you sure, cos I would expect Football Rankings to have have factored that into their projection?

Man Utd won’t be Pot 1 if Chelsea and Dortmund make CL. Although with Arsenal being the next team in line anyway it probably doesn’t make any difference.
-
Feel like Spurs are the most likely to field a minging line-up tonight. Man Utd probably just about have enough to depth to rest a couple of those available and still have a semi-decent team out. Don’t think that’s the case with Spurs.

Sounds like he’s had the scan and it’s not shown anything up, so might be alright to crack on.

Yeah, I wouldn’t criticise what they’ve done in any way, I’d actually be very positive about it on the whole, but it still doesn’t really put them in the frame for me. It’s slightly odd season, in that you can be fairly complementary about the majority of managers in the league. Obviously Ange and Amorim have been catastrophic, Pep poor by his standards, Maresca iffy (although probably satisfactory enough IF they make CL), but everyone else bar the bottom three, you’d be happy with to varying degrees.

I’d say ‘decent’ seasons, with very good/excellent moments. Ultimately it looks like they’ll finish 10th and 11th, which is nothing to be sniffed at, but not really ‘Manager of the Season’ worthy.

Time to step up for a massive farewell….
-
Got to be the first time Real Madrid have ever bought someone off Bournemouth.
-
With one year on his contract, I’d agree 12m is very much top end of his worth.

Are you saying the Tyler Dibling deal is a non-starter?
-
He could accept a £100k pay cut and still be our top earner. If anyone’s splashing those kind of numbers wages it’s his former club…
-
Agreed, but season after next eh, let us have the unfair privileges just once.
-
And remember we’re in the cool gang that can’t get a hard draw in the third round of the Carabao now (assuming that’s still a thing next season?).
-
That’s probably true. Although I think he was always in the ‘got a mistake in him’ category, but Man Utd have turned that into ‘got a mistake in him every 2/3 games’.
-
Mendy was very good for a time tbf. Not very familiar with many of the others outside Grobbelaar.
-
Has there ever been a real high quality African keeper? I’m sure there probably has been, but I can’t think of one off the top of my head. Suppose Grobbelaar was Zimbabwean wasn’t he? Long time ago though.
-
Probably depends on the draws tbh. Get draws like we did last season and we’re going to struggle. Get some relatively kind home draws, at least in the early rounds, and can probably still have serious go in the latter stages.

I think Trafford is actually superior to Pope in shot stopping. He has similar enormous wingspan, but probably more athleticism. We’re he’s inferior is commanding the area. I don’t think it’s as much of an issue as some make out, but he’s definitely not at Pope’s level. And obviously, he’s significantly better with his feet.

“Solid defensively at this level” might be a tad understated for a team absolutely smashed every defensive record going.
-
So where’s Amorim got all these tickets from?
-
It is at Southampton. Not that it really makes a great deal of difference IMO. Credit to them for holding Man City, but they did get absolutely battered and would have lost that game 90% of the time.

Agree, but I think you can except CB from the list as well.
