    Diego Carlos

Tbf doing his Achilles immediately after signing was incredibly unfortunate. Whether that’s resulted in them now having an inferior player to the one they signed, I don’t know, but it’s definitely potential mitigation.
  2. I assume he means it’s more important to win this than a single PL match, as we’ve obviously a far, far greater chance of winning this than the PL. And winning a major trophy is probably higher up on must fans priority list than finishing X place in the PL. Having said that it’s clearly not ‘bigger’ in terms of difficulty than a PL match would be, which should allow us to change the team if we want.
  3. Yes, to a degree. But there’s an argument to say that given the size of the club, the WSL is probably where we should have been all along, had the previous regime not had zero interest whatsoever in the women’s team.

Early ko’s are generally dreadful for the atmosphere, and playing Man City is often a negative as well as they just pop it around without our crowd having much to get excited about. But as Eddie mentioned after the game, the way we went after them and put them under a degree of pressure, definitely helped get the crowd involved.

    Atmosphere was decent yesterday tbf.
  6. Not sure I’d have fancied us playing against them with 10, even just for a few minutes.

    St James' Park

I’m in that first pic (just about). And no, I was not a camera holder.
  8. The most ‘rest’ he’s ever got was only coming on for the last 25 mins at Old Trafford last season when we were already 3-0 up.
  9. Is she not worth as much as, if not more than him?
  10. He’d have to go some to be going bust given he had 6/7 years at Liverpool and West Ham where he would have been on close to six figures per week.

  12. Wor Flags displays are visually class. But the real class of them is days like today when they absolutely nail the right message, whether that be to a particular player or just in general. Hats off to @Heron and whoever else is on the Wor Flags brains trust 👏

    Dan Burn

I’ll have to see the goal back, if he was significantly at fault, then fair enough. But otherwise I thought that was close to his best game for us.

    St James' Park

Relating to the Members food and beverage workshop that was held last night.
  15. We literally all got the hoodie then?
  16. Yeah, we all should get it. Whether everyone gets the email by 9am however…

    St James' Park

Tbf it kind of depends what the club are hoping to get out of it. There’s a (very) wide ranging group of fans on there, and I would like to think the club would be sensible enough to listen to those most relevant to the topic being discussed. For example, if the topic was the type of beer being sold in the ground, that yank wife’s opinion holds little or no relevance. However, if the subject was something like how to engage fans in other countries, she is much more relevant. No board, be it commercial, fan advisory, or whatever, benefits from being exclusively people with similar backgrounds, holding similar views and similar skillsets.
  18. Yeah, it’ll be sold out. Might be very slightly below capacity depending on what Wimbledon sell and what can be re-sold.
  19. Can’t wait to have a piss in the new St James Park toilets sponsored by Sela.
  20. Perhaps the new PIF St James’ Park super stadium on the Town Moor will help alleviate the problem…
  21. Surely it’s the same for a lot of other teams though? Certainly the more established/big teams anyway. Someone put up a stat on here a while back about the average age of Liverpool ST holders, and I forget the exact age, but it was getting on. I think your overall point is absolutely valid though, as it’s a growing problem in this country, not just NUFC specifically, due to ludicrous popularity of attending matches these days. It’s not just a case of getting younger fans in either. We’ll all been to early round cup games in the past that have clearly had a younger crowd in and the atmosphere has been shite, worse than a standard league game. You need to find a way to get ST’s for older teenagers, so they continue to be able to go as they progress into their 20’s/30’s and bring the ‘radgie’ element to the support, whilst at the same time losing some some of the idiocy we all have as teenagers. How you do that when demand is completely outstripping supply, and pricing is only going one way, I have no idea.
