  1. Why would they not? If anything it would probably encourage them to spend. ‘Let’s make sure we attract the quality players we want now before we’re playing Sunderland in League One in 25/26’.

He stayed fit the majority of last season.

Indeed. He did an excellent job of shutting Bruno down when we had possession. Suspect his price tag would be a bit hefty for us unfortunately, even with Forest’s financial issues.

The more I think about DCL, the more it could make sense. Given Everton’s financial position there’s no way they’re not selling him if he’s not signing a new contract. What would the going rate be given he’s only got one year left? I’d guess at 20/25m. I totally understand the concern about his injury record, but last season he made 32 league appearances which was more than the likes of Haaland, Isak, Richarlison and obviously Wilson. And his biggest injury was a broken cheekbone, which feels more ‘unlucky’ than a muscle injury. I genuinely think he’s one of those players where the perception of him would change if we signed him, in a similar way to AG, albeit for different reasons.

Whilst it’s very difficult to see past DCL’s injury record (although he actually had 26 starts and 6 sub appearances in the league this season), he’s clearly got very good attributes. He would certainly offer a different skill set to Isak in terms of his aerial ability and physicality, which could potentially be useful if we were wanting to change things up later in a game. Obviously I get everyone would have reservations if the price tag was (very) substantial, but if he’s in the last year of his contract, I can definitely see it as a possibility. And we all know what happened the last time we bought someone from Everton no-one wanted…
  6. There’s no need to change anything. If none of Lascelles, Trippier or Burn are in a starting lineup, then fair enough, he may be a good shout. But there’s no need to effectively piss on any of the other three by making Bruno first choice captain. Howe didn’t do it to Lascelles when Trippier came in and I’d doubt he’d do it now.
  7. Spotted this in a Luton fans review of the season. No surprise to anyone, but always good to hear. https://x.com/davidhird88/status/1792955993069863324?s=46&t=OQLMckSuatbpqWF13Al4mQ
  8. Hope’s relentless when he decides to stick the knife in to someone. You know there’s probably more to come as well.
  9. There’s 19 games in the playoff round, so we’ll definitely be a seed. Looking at the projections at the minute the hardest draw we could get would probably be one of: Vitoria AEK Athens Brondby Servette Lugano Molde
  10. Tbf, Schar did go down at the end, whether it was cramp or whatever, and it didn’t seem like Dummett was coming on until that point.
  11. Villa got 17 this season: https://kassiesa.net/uefa/data/method5/trank2024.html
  12. Yeah, it’s the bold bit.

    Nick Pope

Brighton away is the obvious one. But like I say, to his credit, Pope doesn’t try to do anything other than the absolute basics. Perhaps Eddie now wants out keeper to provide more than that in terms of passing out.
  14. What kind of wrong un has WhatsApp groups with a random lass they went to school with?

    Nick Pope

Howay man, every PL keeper is significantly better with their feet than Pope. He plenty makes up for it in other areas, but he is, and always will be, incredibly limited with his passing. In his defence (sorta), I will say he rarely complicates anything when passing out, and therefore isn’t particularly prone to catastrophic errors, but he’s incredibly limited in what he can do.

For clarity: Since Eddie arrived our transfers are: British = 9 Non-British = 8
  17. We’re the 15th best away team in the league. Brentford are the 16th best home team. Both teams are entitled to see the game as ‘winnable’.
  18. No worries mate. Sorry I didn’t know where the nearest strippers was.
  19. Old Trafford bingo: Situated next to home fans to see a group of (presumably) Asian tourist fans turn up 15 mins late to take their seats ✅ Got beat ✅ Asked for directions by Irish bloke on leaving ground ✅ Road closures on A1 ✅ Full house.
