Was it just me but for the offside, did it not show the red line Infront of the blue? I.e. Liverpool player playing him on?
-
Just looks so disinterested and almost as if he's sulking most of the time. Harsh reality is it's like playing with 10 men when he's on the pitch. Isak will probably look like Usain Bolt compared to him.

The fan numbers gave the game away.

Theres a 'Stoke' fan in peyce just joined RTG and started a thread called 'Apologies' It's amazing how many clubs seem to find that message board just to leave a endearing thread for the mackems. Hi. I'm a Stoke fan and all I can say is sorry that it looks like we are poaching Neil! I don't know what to make of it. My first reaction (and still now) is to be totally honest and say that I don't know why he would swap you for us! I love my club, but I know that you are a bigger club than we are and you are on the up where we are just treading water! You can pull in 40000 or so fans and we have about 20000 regularly. Maybe 5 years ago when we were in the Prem and had much bigger appeal, I could understand it more, but it seems a strange one now. If it's purely about a bigger contract/money that we will give him then I'd be slightly worried about his reasons for coming - but who knows! He may well be what we need as we have a very good squad potentially who should be challenging - but we've been absolute dog shite for the last 5 years!! I feel for you though. Bizarrely, this was how we felt when Steve Cotterill left us many years ago to become Assistant Manager for you guys for those of you who remember that. Football eh!!!

If not us, I would have preferred to have seen him at Arsenal or someone of that ilk. Not a rank club like West Ham.

Haaland is some beast like. Strong as an Ox and fast as fuck. He's quality
-
Thought he seemed a little bit rough round the edges but nothing too bad considering the opposition. Got sucked into watching Haaland and left a gap for their goal but didn't feel he played badly overall. Sure his confidence will grow as the season goes on.

I'm just so glad to watch a Newcastle team where the manager doesnt shit his pants and play 5 at the back, 1 up front and try to "nick" a goal.
-
Loved it when he done Awoniyi like a kipper.
-
Bet his family were glued to the screen. Impressive display.

Good luck to the lad. Weighing up your options or holding out to see what teams come in for him is completely normal and we'd all do the same in his shoes. Lad's got the chance to play in his native country alongside a team of superstars. There was only going to be one outcome. There seems to be an entitlement creeping into our fanbase lately, especially the donuts on twitter. We're simply not a top club yet. It'll come though I'm sure.

We need to realise we've got competent owners now. Let go of that Ashley era scepticism and enjoy the ride!

Saw the training ground and thought fuck thish!
-
Wilson, Bruno, Schar, Botman, Matty Longstaff. The list goes on
-
We've got a team of handsome fuckers now like. Surely were the best looking team in the PL?
-
If Howe can get a tune out of Shelvey the snail, I've got no concerns about him coaching a young talented international defender.
-
Definitely. Him and Osimhen would be dreamy. Sort it oot Mandy.
-
Not sure but I heard he was a massive Jeremy Corbyn fan.

Some good names being mentioned. As a kid growing up in the 90s, me and my mate used to have a kick around in my back garden and at the time Football Italia used to be on TV weekly. I just remember being awestruck at the whole exotic feel of that league and my favourite player was Del Piero. So I used to think I was him as a kid and my mate used to pretend he was Zola . I remember winning a gold fish at the hoppings one year and when I got Del Piero home, I was absolutely buzzing

Just a sign of us being a big club. Waste a bit money on a few signings until we get it right. Par for the course.

Been some funny posts on RTG like. They genuinely fewm at us winning. Personally I like to see them get beat, but if they win it's just merely a case of thinking the spawny fuckers and I get on with my day. They can say we're murderers, horse punchers, gravy stained, arrogant, deluded or whatever. The reality is they are jealous and it kills them to admit it to themselves. All they can do to ease that is to collectively share a mutual hatred towards us and for a lot of them they think that's what makes them supporters of a club. Their trophy is us. It doesn't matter what league we were in. If we were both in the Championship and Sunderland were above us, that would be contentment for a vast proportion of thie fan base and I genuinely believe they'd be happy at that.
