Imagine him on one side Willems on the other Wonder if he would come back or if that ship has sailed...

Can understand lacking match sharpness of course and also a dip in fitness... you would imagine training at home by yourself doesn't have the same intensity as it does when in the group, but the 5 subs per team rule the Bundesliga put in place solves that to a large degree. 6 weeks is excessive, could understand 2.

Love watching Brandt, really elegant player.

Mad that this is happening really, but I’m glad it is. Weird as fuck watching the subs walk out with masks on and take their seats 2m from eachother.

Aye, and the patience of the fans during the losing streak at the start of the season back. Went against all the ideas that we hound out all of our manager like we did with Sir Bobby. Meanwhile they were changing managers with the seasons (and not even the football kind).

Recipe for disaster, stands filled with cut outs of tyrannical rulers, serial killers etc. with the odd happy nuclear family

What are fans of other football clubs talking about on their forums? At least we have the takeover to discuss. Everton fans are talking about our takeover a lot and, my word, they absolutely fucking hate us. If it goes through then, with the Mackems out of the picture, we have a new enemy. In fact their board members on Grand Old Team are uncannily similar to those on RTG. Bitter doesnt even come close. They seem to do the whole 'we're a bigger club than...' thing a lot, same as a lot of Sunderland fans but also our fans too. Really Newcastle & Everton are similar 'sized' clubs. I'm not a fan of theirs though, never have been for some reason but it was emphasised when one of their fans with his little bairn in one arm decided to punch Bertrand Traore of Lyon in a Europa league game.

Newcastle is twinned with Gelsenkirchen afterall.

Lush arse too.

Depends how we would plan to set up I guess, 3 at the back then maybe... he'd be in contention with Lejeune though because there's no way he gets in ahead of Schar and you need a Fede/Lascelles type in there too.

I'll pass on Stones like. Although it was the first beer I ever tried when I was about 11.
-
Thing I'll be most looking forward to in the short term is seeing Schar back in the team under a manager who can use him properly, as he's still our best player when he's in form imo. Class above.

That was a good read that, and I agree that he was as good as anyone in the world on his day. My favourite player of all time, he embodies everything I loved football for as a kid, where in your area or local sunday league there was that one kid that everyone knew that was just levels above everyone else, seemed to possess a majestic quality, effortless & untouchable almost. Hatem managed to carry the ability to provoke that same feeling into professional football and the fact he done it for Newcastle in his best years (other than Nice arguably) just cements him at the top for me.
