I would imagine we will know mid-friendlys in the summer if Pope's should is up to it, if not we might see a scramble towards the end of the transfer window for a more experienced keeper but all the other clubs will have bedded in their squad by then so could be a bit of a gamble and we might not get anyone decent. With the two back up keepers on their way in the summer then this could be a problem position if Pope doesn't make a full recovery. No doubt the club are already on it now that we have professionals in charge.

Just watching MOTD and realised that the young goalie at Burnley, Trafford is not playing at the minute. I know he looked shell-shocked half way through the season but he looked great in the under 21's in the summer. If Burnley go down they might need a few quid and he would make an excellent back up to Pope with a view to taking over in a season or two, he knows our young English lads which would help. I think they paid about £15m for him, if we could get him for around that it would be money well spent and squad player type money.

Really don't want to loose him but if we do it is £100M that will be invested back into the club and not fattys baggy jeans pockets. And if that is the release fee then if anyone tries anything outside that month then it is even more, there are only a few clubs who could afford that and how many of them actually have a chance to win things?, probably about half of them, so the number gets smaller and who of them would need him and want him and then would he want to go there?. I think we have a real good chance of keeping him when you think along those lines.

The Luton v's Everton game is going to be a fun one, it could be the one that decides the last relegation place. I didn't realise they have Forest as well!

Not really getting excited as such, but if they did go pop it will hopefully be the catalyst for change in football, no one wants to see anyone loose their job etc. What would be good to see is the Everton media love in take a hit, for a crap team they get far more bias than the majority of the league and outside the cartel clubs they probably get the most. No-one shed a tear when some lower league clubs went bust, perhaps it needs a "big" club to go that way for the long term good of football.

Yeah I think they targeted us for 3 points in their minds as they go for top 4 with those fixtures and then I can only see them getting another 2 wins now, I would love to catch them but it will be a big ask, and mean us winning at old Trafford against the sporney man's. As I said I do like him but it just must have been the times I have seen him that he hasn't stood out that much, I expected him to be getting a few more headlines when he moved to Brighton than he has, I probably just haven't been paying close enough attention. I do think he would work well under Eddie but for the cost he would be I am not sure how much he would improve us and would probably just be a squad filler. If we were 5 years down the line we could afford to spend the money they would want and the time developing him but I just don't think we have the money for that luxury at the moment. It's a shame as I think if we had got him direct from Chelsea for £10m or whatever they paid for him he would have come on more under Eddie and would have been good for us this year with the injuries we have had, but they would probably want 3 or 4 times that for him and that is money we can spend better elsewhere.

I liked Gilmour when he was at Chelsea, he gave some good camio performances when I saw him but doesn't seem to have kicked on since then. I think he has some potential but it is purely as a second string, league Cup type of player. But then again I wanted us to have a look at Todd Cantwell before his form nosedived so what do I know.
