He did scuff it into the ground. To be fair to him the ball bobbled just as he struck it, that's how he scuffed the shot a bit. If the bobble caused a mishit, surely he would have got his foot under the ball, not over it. He definitely miss hit the shot.

Fingers crossed that you are right. I actually think we will stumble to safety. However, the whole situation reminds me of the mackems in their last 3 or 4 seasons in the top flight. Their goalkeeper always won player of the season (Dubravka?). They were heavily reliant on loan players (sound familiar). Celebrated finishing 17th (it could be us). Gave away thousands of free tickets (is it becoming clearer?). And frightingly they were massively mismanaged from top to bottom and that is where we are at this moment in time. I truly hope I'm wrong, it may not be this season but it is happening, the club are in a downward spiral.

I had a similar conversation with a season ticket holder friend of mine. He claimed we were safe from relegation as there were three teams worse than us. I asked him to name the teams and they were Norwich, Villa and Watford. I reminded him that both Norwich and Villa played us off the park earlier in the season (and before 0-0 on Saturday). I also reminded him Watford were unlucky to leave St James' with just a point. He completely zoned out at this point and may as well stuck his fingers in his ears. I honestly haven't seen three worse teams than us.

they are but there was 42 leagues games that season. never be beaten mind. cole was a top striker who was sold because he couldn't play with paul kitson. he won doubles and trebles and we didn't . Fergie was right Keegan was wrong is the uncomfortable truth. Shearer with Ferdinand were unplayable. Keegan was right, Fergie got lucky!

There are some on here that are so desperate for him to prove he is genuinely a 40 million pound player that they actually can not or will not admit this player is rubbish. Totally agree UncleBingo. I had the pleasure of meeting you at one of our group meetings in The Labour Club. We were so passionate about our club. Sadly that passion has diminished and both my wife and I relinquished our season tickets after 30 years at the beginning of this season. What was most shocking and sad was the fact our own supporters treated us with disdain. We asked for a few minutes delay to enter our seats prior to the West Ham game. The abuse we took from our fellow supporters broke the camels back for me. I am not name calling all our fans but I somehow feel vindicated that they are witnessing some of the worst orchestrated and poorly run club affairs that I have ever seen witnessed. Let them eat cake!

There are not three teams worse than this bunch. Thank god we have25 points. Scramble another 3/4 wins and we may just make it. This is awful!

I just hope we can stumble to another 10/12 points because this team are not capable of dominating the opposition. When you look at the team's we are relying on staying in the bottom 3 then it does not bode well. Norwich wiped the floor with us as did Villa. Watford were robbed at our place. I fear the worst. However Kaka was entertained by a fantastic game today! (winky face).
