Whether his coaching is still as good as it was when he was younger, he has the gravitas, style, experience, appreciation of NUFC and ability to coach average players to achieve better things (in many ways he is very similar to Rafa) I would lose so much if Rafa did leave, but Arsene would be an amazing alternative. (If, massive if, he could be persuaded to come and work for our FCB....)

I am constantly amazed at the unreal optimism of some. He'll be given £100m, He'll get this, he'll get that. Regarding Pep, Klopp, Rogers etc. I've often wondered what would happen if the top five and bottom five managers swapped places for a season. Just how good would the 'best' do with a poor club, because that's surely the mark of a great manager and coach. And how would Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea do with a 'poor' manager? Is it down to the players, the team ethics or more to do with their coaching? It's complete fantasy of course and will never happen, but it would really sort out the great managers who can get the best to win as opposed to the great manager who can get the poorest to win.

100% Agree. Without any doubt at all - even including the Robson years, KK gave us the best footballing side this country has seen since the new Manchester City. Utter, complete joy to watch. I'm pretty certain that sold of the leaseholds of virtually all their properties about 15 years ago, when their troubles really began. It was a way of raising money for their debts and poor sales. Borrowed in the hope of improving things so rents would not be a problem. When you have to sell your house to pay the bills you know you're in trouble. So basically Ashley would have (assuming he took it over which is a massive assumption) then the only real assets is the trading performance (shit) profitability (equally shit) and the stock value. Oh, and theres a massive shortfall in the pension fund too, allegedly £400k. Not really worth the trouble in my humble opinion, but Ashley doesn't listed to me. Or anyone else.
