Van looked empty but people were handing donations over. "That's disgusting that" she says "what? Collecting at a match?" I asked "Nah, there should be way more than that" Just then the woman from the food bank told the reporter she had a full van when it clearly wasn't "just like their attendances" says Mrs G then reels in agony from her guffaw. The attendance obsession is a strange one and, also self defeating. Notwithstanding their away support, which is laudable, over inflating the home attendances has over inflated their self worth. I mean they don't even recognise what their own eyes tell them. Have these owners, that have come along and been rinsed on the way, been beguiled by regular "big" crowds then realised it's a mirage?
