It blows my mind how good Messi is/was, but Pele perhaps more-so.

there might be something to this tbh. I was watching England v Scotland 1970, about a year ago. Couldn’t believe I was watching players who are now legend of the game genuinely looked poor. With the exception of Bobby Moore who was breathtakingly good.

Not really. Pep has very strict and precise demands for players weight. Something like a 1kg margin. For example a players ideal weight might be between 80 or 81 kg, anything over or under will be deemed unacceptable.

Has to be a mental health reason. Same as Nile Ranger. People always tbh ought of the letter as a dickhead which is probably true, but there can’t be any other reason for such little desire when you have the world at your feet.
