It was best for Liverpool to lay down and let Blackburn beat them that time Blackburn won the league but they didn't cos its bullshit
-
Suppose West Ham stayed up once because Man United fancied a dick around instead so there's balance in that at least.
-
Was also continuously reassured otherwise on here yesterday. Stay up if they win this with the two home fixtures they have.
-
Forest must put a hex on players they sell
-
Spurs win tomorrow they stay up I reckon.

Newcastle United 3-1 Brighton & Hove Albion - 02/05/26

Results all that matters at this stage of the season with the votes in on the general performance and the end nigh -
When was this? the 70s because its never been the case in my life. Ossie Ardiles grace period aside I remember it being half empty and toxic when we were at our lowest ebb.
-
Was no different under McKeag/McFaul/Charlton or Shephard/Dalglish/Souness to Ashley/Pardew even when in two of those periods expectations were a lot lower and hardly any entitlement. 14th/15th in May and playong badly is a bad season for us historically and more so now. Were 9th overall and if we were 9th now we probably wouldn't be having these conversations.
-
Can easily make a case for winning both their home games. Would say the odds are still against them winning at Villa even with their Europa games but that's not how football works and its that one result away as said if that happens and we lose to Brighton 5points from 9 available from a different complexion. Still don't think they'll go.
-
Just two results away from that being 5points with 9 to play for.

The barse.

An often neglected facet of the Keegan era because we always played great football was how that changed. 95/96 with wingers feeding the centre forward and a pronounced anchor man in midfield was almost negative on paper compared to the five-a-side passing of a few seasons prior, with the wingbacks, three centrebacks era in between.

Putrid fixture and needs must I suppose so will take a naff 0-0 draw. Can worry about performances later. Re-realising Villa were playing in the Europa with Spurs in the middle hasn't sat well. -
Pretending everything is alright and people who think otherwise are defective hasn't paid of yet with four games to go, law of averages says its bound to be right at some point though.
-
They should be the ideal case to make an example of the risks of incessant financial irresponsibility rather than teflon

What a boon for Cricket fans. Someone who last played a different sport quarter of a century ago and has been a depolorable manager in that sport at a moderate level coming on to talk cricket.
-
That's what makes it easier surely.

See it nearly every day

Genuinely thought this was a guide to how they've fixed the domestic cups. More like it was (last Millennium) and less like it is now is a step in the right direction in whatever way to fixing it but its never going to happen. Likely to kill them further still if anything. I think at least one of the Europa or Conference should be a straight knockout. Copying the same format as the CL is basically just saying they've brand X versions of it.

All I know is if thats not backing, lord give me so unbacking.
-
First time I heard it it was Everton a year after they were champions doing it to Jim Leighton....and they weren't wrong in that assessment.
-
Looked forward to doing it to liven up some boring games and it was phased out by the time I got there. Shame. Its that wideboy arms stretched "waaaaahey" that needs done away with

After every defeat I somehow see the oxymoronic implication that concerns and criticisms are knee-jerk reactions to one single, solitary game and loss. People being hysterical to losing to Arsenal, is the new hysterical to losing to Sunderland. Meanwhile against the odds were having our worst ever non-Ashley Premier League season but somehow its not warranted or a flawed observation.
-
Howard Wilkinson, sort of. Leeds put in a feeble title defence and finished bottom half, followed by two fifth place finishes, followed by back to the bottom half. Bournemouth were never bankrolled until then either.
-
Nobody bar Shepherd thought that at the time or since. Was merely stating a fact. Wasn't even arguing against you more going along with the joke.
