  1. Feels like they're playing with a few percent less pressure (both sides) being 'only' a cup game.
  2. Also 30years since he was booked for being fouled for a blatant penalty.
  3. 9 FA Cup 3rd round games kicking off at 3pm Saturday. Used to be twice that with mass postponments
  4. Tons of times I imagine. Spurs 92, Liverpool 93, Chelsea 98 just off the top of my head from 'my era'
  5. Due to the FA Cups standing these days there's not a chance of that. We got beat at Stevenage and at home off Cambridge in relatively recent times and it was just moved on from. I'm still more angry and nervous about the last 10minutes at Stevenage in 98 than actually losing there.
  6. I can go along with that. Were worse if anything when Shearer came back though.
  7. Keegan / Sir Bobby / Eddie Rafa Smith / Hughton / Roeder Pardew Gullit (at least it didn't get worse and the football improved) Dalglish / Allardyce / Kinnear McClaren (terrible manager, but at least a manager) / Ossie (nice guy, lovely football but was taking us into Div3 without doubt) Souness / Bruce (no business ever being employed as football managers) *Not in my life but since I started going
  8. The PLC excuse that always comes up spares him unduly and it doesn't follow - his (mostly atrocious) spend was competitive with anyone's to have us drop like a stone. The only player he was forced to sell was Ferdinand, he couldn't wait to get shot of Ginola and Tino. Way the question is phrased and my interpretation of "Greatest" - definitely Keegan.

By the old means typically you'd spend a ton of money badly and pay the price and if you spent it well you wouldn't. Seems a lot fairer than clubs spending money well and it being tough shit and clubs spending unwholesome amounts badly and just being allowed to carry on as normal, by all means waste more money terribly even though that's exactly what it was supposed to stop (allegedly)
  10. Whilst obviously bigger than those others and at least add something its arguable whether Leeds are a Premier League club because historically they're 19th in the all-time table. Below Sheffield United, Derby, Bolton, Blackburn, Sheffield Wed and West Brom.
  11. The two 2001 games were head and shoulders above the others. Were good games and good quality games from the start.
  12. Even though I was a kid I didn't even dream about having the future he gave us. Thought midtable in the first division with Beardsley's, Waddle's and Gazza's passing through was the pinnacle and envied those that got to experience that instead what I was getting. In less than a year and a half he took us from our lowest ebb to blowing that ambition out the water.
  13. Forgot all about that but somehow always felt like we should be on the thin end of that stat and stats like it.
  14. To quote Philippe Albert being interviewed after Keegan left in 97 - "For me he was the best, and he's still the best"
  15. Let them all go to hell except cave 76 (us) is very much my outlook
  16. Feels dirty. Just feels like we should be conceding the latest goal in PL history. Mental damage of NUFC.
  17. Well that was a mess, cant really process it at this point. Real dampener about Schar and cant take a whole lot out of the performance - more like the Leicester 4-3 than the 4-3 at Leeds back in the day, just enjoy the win, which is what it should all be about ultimately.
  18. Get a real bad feeling when stuff like that doesn't run for us
  19. I don't think its consistency I think were just an average team, the results and performances are in line with that.

    Footy trivia

Missed out fanbase which is a massive part otherwise there'd be no debating and we'd just defer to trophy tables
  21. Lampard possibly. Would work better if West Ham were down already for the chance to have some room for improvement.
  22. I think that's exactly what Celtic and Rangers need to do. Complicating things with possession pervery like Russell Martin or trying to be thespy about it must be exactly what the opposition would want. All they're doing is re-establishing the fact they're the better team which everyone knows anyway.
