I keep seeing headlines come up about us 'Definitely breaching financial rules' and that we'll be penalised for it. I thought we were supposed to be doing alright?! I'm really starting to wonder what it is, whether the officials are actually this bad? Or whether the league is actually corrupt and playing out a pre-determined storyline like some some half-arsed WWE setup or something. It seems to have got steadily worse since there became more American owners, especially after their suggestions on turning things into a more NFL scene were rejected. It feels less and less like a sport and more like matches are determined by utterly shit officiating - on purpose or otherwise. Also, I'm at a loss how VAR can keep getting things so wrong, it happens in no other sport. The mind truly boggles.

I'm presuming the setup is to hold them off until mid-second half, then bring on a smattering of the first teamers to try and nick a goal? Most likely so it's not too physically wearing with all the extra games - shame though, we never seem to play that great when we don't play a settled eleven.

I must admit, all this lack of challenging the obviously nonsensical barriers put in place to stop us investing really does make our owners look weak and timid on that front, something I never thought the Saudis would want or do.

Agreed, I don't see any valid reason why we couldn't now go out and obtain a sponsorship deal of the same value with someone like Saudia or Aramco. There would be zero justification for blocking such a deal without a solid legal challenge, the league might stamp their feet initially, but when presented with legal action would have to cave.
