  1. It's mentioned by away fans every season. That's not a myth
  2. "Ah man, I had him in my team" ignoring that you had every player in your team at one point
  3. The same also can't be said for other people in terms of sharing that view either I think. The Etihad is notoriously soulless amongst football fans. Meanwhile SJP regularly features as the best away day/home crowd/stadium in the country.
  4. I used to organise student experience days for the mainly Chinese students in the business school across the road. Funnily enough, going to Newcastle matches, Beamish, York, London, and doing things like getting photos in front of red telephone boxes all featured high on a list of requests that (shopping aside) never featured doing things they'd done at home or elsewhere. They wanted something uniquely and stereotypically English/British. This idea that a majority would want to get the same experience at a match they get elsewhere ala every British high street now, is complete guesswork. Tourists might go to McDonalds but that's not why they're where they are.
  5. How things look isn't it though. The Etihad might look the part and SJP looks like a giant abstract pram, but I know where I'd rather watch football.
  6. Emirates, Etihad, London Stadium, Wembley and I'm not convinced by Spurs' stadium yet. If they start winning we'll see. That's just here in the UK, but they're everywhere.
  7. Depends on what you define as better. I'd take an embarrassing dive with character over yet another soulless 'matchday experience' bowl any day.
  8. Definitely in for this season as well. Burnley 2 - 3 Man City Arsenal 3 - 1 Forest Bournemouth 2 - 1 West Ham Brighton 3 - 0 Luton Everton 2 - 1 Fulham Sheff United 1 - 1 Palace Newcastle 2 - 1 Villa Brentford 2 - 2 Spurs Chelsea 1 - 2 Liverpool Man United 3 - 0 Wolves
  9. Yet Odegaard, Kane, Groß, Maddison, Trentham, Salah are nowhere to be seen in these templates. Salah and Trent are understandable in the early fuxtures but you'd expect some variation like, particularly as Rashford and Chilwell are patchy form wise.
  10. There's really no reason for it either. Haaland aside, there's nothing to suggest the players being picked are going to be a hit. It's strange to feel like you're being different just by having Kane in your team
  11. I don't think I've ever known a more template defence than this season's. Estupinian, Gabriel and either Shaw or Chilwell. It's everywhere
  12. They were linked last summer and the reaction on here was basically 'now it makes sense why we're not in for him'. Then he just went to West Ham
  13. Actually what am I on about? That role is a shoo in for George Caulkin. Mawkishness aside I actually think he'd be good.
  14. *who isn't also an Amnesty International ambassador
  15. He's been working in the media for 17 years like, but I take the point. I can't think of anyone that would have done the whole gravitas but local thing tbh.
  16. We have an ignore function, remember.
  17. No different to any of the other AON docs in that regard.
  18. Yeah, the only place I'd have him 3rd is in that MSN front 3 that's the best I've ever seen. Unbelievable footballer, but played in an era where unbelievable players were in abundance.
  19. Dunno why but I'm always interested in why people from certain places say 'footballer' like that. Like we'd say fut-bawl-ah, but they say fut-bul-uh with the last two syllabyls said really quickly.
  20. Nothing quotes really. Although every single season pundits always fall into the same trap of judging signings by what they've already done.
  21. Well done Disco, you've summoned Sambyman.
  22. Memes aside, £30m for a starting England CB (their all time goalscoring defender no less) is fair really. I'd be gutted if we'd paid it, but I think he'll do well in the right set up.
  23. Tbf, if you join one you'll join the other.
