I really like Mbuemo but would he suit how we play? Brentford seem to play on the break much more than us.

Peacock's a fantastic shout actually, I remember at the time a lot of people thinking he was a donkey, a weak link etc when he really wasn't at all. The rest I think deserved being seen as players we could upgrade on (Barton, Shaka, Pav) or I don't remember getting much criticism and being widely liked (Beresford)

I totally get what you're saying and I'm with you on the bit in bold, but without wanting to sound like a bit of a pedant, what I've seen so far in terms of making the argument is nearer to a series of assertions based on premises I'm very dubious of than a sound argument based on a great deal of available evidence. Even then, if I accept the argument, I admit that it would also need to be incredibly strong, based on evidence I could really trust, and come with an offer too good to refuse for me to consider it worth doing vs what we'd lose in the process.

Guarantee some will deny it, but Gillespie was pretty underappeciated until he was injured. A lot of people didn't like 'Back pass Batty' despite him being absolutely fucking class as well.

Man I absolutely loved that first half of 94/95 team. As good as 95/96 was that first couple of months was just as much up there for me.

Responsible for the loudest, most spontaneous and widespread celebrations I've ever heard inside SJP. He was absolutely fantastic in that match and even without that insane purple patch was brilliant for us for a good year to 18 months.
