  1. Absolutely no one can deny the whole bedwetting thing now, like. So many going on like actual bairns.
  2. Mad that it took a tweet a day later to state what should have already been obvious.
  3. Has any price been mentioned btw? I can't seem to see the fees for Wood.
  4. Hopefully we get some updates later tonight, it's been really quiet today. Yesterday was a negative and right now we need two positives.

    Lucas Digne

Just thought it was a funny example when it was during the season he won the biggest trophy of his career.

Villa are building a decent team and it's obviously right to have it as an ambition, but him going there based on being confident of getting into Europe this season (?) or next doesn't really add up for me.

    ...then won the Champions League.
  8. I get what you're saying, I just don't think it means we definitely have to change our style. Burnley play percentages, but like you say Liverpool stick loads of crosses in the box while playing excellent football. There's a big gap in the middle between those two team's styles where I think we'd fit, and while we don't cross loads at the moment it's possibly just chicken/egg - if it's not a strength of your team you don't do it as much, when you've got someone like Wood and it becomes a strength, you do it a bit more. Trippier, Shelvey, and Ritchie (I know) are all very good crossers and there's the potential that we get more in this window too. We've played Burnley and saw how shit they were, but it's not like it was Wood or any of their strikers missing chances that was the problem, they were just playing shite percentage stuff everywhere. I definitely agree that I'd want to see him come in as a plan B though, I wouldn't be confident of surviving if he was the main CF coming in.
  9. Really don't get what you mean by changing our style, like. We already get plenty of crosses into the box.

They'd love to have what they're saying is blood on our hands. It's not even worth making an argument beyond that and the response to any denial from them is just "yes you would" x ∞
  11. Just been thinking about these underwhelming players in the Chris Wood sort of lump mould and they all seem to have worked out quite well from memory - Sibierski, Daryl Murphy, Harewood, Rondon. Any others I've missed?
  12. It's generally a good rule and about as foolproof as it gets, but it still has its moments. Just off the top of my head, Lyon were gutted when they sold Cacapa to us, Deportivo with Luque too, and we were all gutted/underwhelmed about signing players like Antoine Sibierski, Daryl Murphy, Marlon Harewood, and Solomon Rondon, who were all in the Chris Wood lump model, but did a good job. We often tend to get those types of players stepping up for us, hopefully he's the same.
  13. I hated Mitrovic, absolutely couldn't stand the kid in more or less every way and the adulation he got here got right on my tits and still does a bit whenever he's brought up. Saying that, I still agree that I'd take him over Wood.
  14. Ings for me is the only potential option.
  15. It has a Daryl Murphy feel about it. I'm not totally against it, but would be if it's the only CF signed.
  16. The biggest benefit with Wood by far would be weakening a rival, which is why him coming seems ridiculous
  17. Are we paying Burnley to take up a relegation place? Makes no sense for them to sell Wood.
  18. Extremely tense 1-0/1-1/0-1 written all over it.
  19. What I'd give for someone like Man United era Henrik Laarson to be available on loan, someone at the end of their career who'd come and would more or less guarantee goals.
  20. It'll be the pettiest shit imaginable. I'd bet something along the lines of them disparaging Sports Direct in some way.
  21. This thread needs to do its magic and I'm sure everyone will cheer up a bit.
  22. We've scored 5 more than Wolves in 8th, 1 less than Brighton in 9th, and Southampton in 14th. I think you can make a fair argument that our defending is still the problem despite today.
