The amount of 'best XIs' and 'underrated XIs' of the season I've seen that include every player in our defence except for Schar is unreal like. Botman is an absolute class act, Burn has performed admirably at left back, and Trippier's undoubtedly been the best RB in the league this season, but none of them have been as consistently a 7, 8, or 9 in the way Schar has. Him and Willock are seemingly our invisible cogs, the players that supporters know are absolutely crucial to our success, while fans of other clubs only see everyone else.

And Murphy tbf, can't really believe I'm typing that.
-
I love Willock, but it makes no sense to me that you'd say nothing Joelinton does ends in anything so we should, what? play Willock over him? Yet Joelinton has twice the goals and the same amount of assists Willock has. It shouldn't even be either/or if that's the suggestion, you just play both. Joelinton has far, far more to his game than goals and assists anyway.

Just been watching the match again. Noticed that when ASM gets the ball and him and Isak were 2 on 2, Madley blows for half time early. There was 6 seconds left of the additional 2 mins added on. There's a good chance we score from that position.
-
If Willock was 10 times the player Joelinton is he'd literally be the best midfielder in the world. They're apples and oranges, but any comparison with Joelinton is always a compliment.

Just to add a bit of balance to the force, here's my lass's dad, Len, who's now adopted Bournemouth as his second team due to his undying love for Edward and after watching the minus 17 documentary.

Honestly don't think he's in any more of a bad place than before. We're just seeing on Twitter what anyone who was anywhere within earshot of him in the last 20 years would tell you about him. I heard him going on like that plenty of times in Nine about 10 years ago.

Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 Newcastle United (07/01/2023)
Kid Icarus replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
Unsurprising really. Every set of fans has its element with a gigantic chip on their shoulder that think people are only picking on them and them alone. -
Remember when Gabriel Clarke used to sign off his interviews with England managers and players with 'England expects' as if he was Cleric in the fucking Ministry of Football? Never liked that lipless freak like, proper creep.

He's not wrong tbf, I'm always impressed with the level of detail sites like that go into.
-
I think you're talking to the person that set up the site btw

About 5th, sometimes 4th sometimes 6th I think

I couldn't tell for certain if it was a handball when I was watching it tbh. The rule is sleeve height now isn't it, and I thought it was hard to tell whether it hit his arm below that point at any time.
-
Their fans are notorious cunts and their team was notoriously dirty and boring for like 20 years. As much as I don't particularly like them, I'd still much rather have them in the league than a lot of others.
-
I think you're probably underappreciating just how obsessive I get whenever we're linked with a player They have a lot of similarities.
-
What did everyone think of Lemina yesterday? It seemed like he was on the ball more than anyone for them.
-
Really pleased to hear that the atmosphere was a lot better. If only we could pinpoint why that might have been the case. I didn't think the match was particularly rabble rousing until the goal so maybe it was something else.
-
Very obvious choices, but I think in the end it'll be Bournemouth, Forest, and Southampton
-
Not bringing a player on to play out of position also doesn't strike me as an indicator of anything either tbh.
-
Botman's face throughout Sheff Wed away was unreal like. Absolutely couldn't hide his disdain for the drop off in quality from our first XI
-
Really pleased and slightly surprised that everyone loved his performance yesterday like. I thought he was great, but for me his stand out this season was Southampton away where he was absolutely colossal but didn't get as many plaudits.
-
I love how when he's on the ball he has a proper grimace on his face. Really funny seeing it in contrast to his usually proper jovial little dial
-
I don't think you make unforced defensive changes when you're holding onto a lead and the defense is performing well. I think things might have been different if we were 3-1 up
-
Not at all if you watch it in real-time. There are people on both sides within our support - very different. Among the unbiased it's almost unanimous from what I've seen.
