  1. I know there's a lot of hangover disdain for Liverpool like, but I think this is probably my favourite ever non-Newcastle Premier League team. Love watching them.
  2. Whoever the next Raul Jiminez, Roberto Firmino type is would be my ideal signing I think.
  3. 93/94 in all competitions, after Cole and Beardsley it's Lee with 8, Allen with 7 94/95 in all competitions Beardsley and Cole were our top scorers with 15. Lee had 14, Fox and Kitson had 12. Just on league stats though, Fox (10) was only outscored by Beardsley (12)
  4. Would love to know exactly what he learned during his time off, especially from Simeone. My main worry when he came in was that we'd be too expansive and open, but with a couple of exceptions (Leicester and Spurs away) we've been almost Rafa levels of defensively organised with the added bonus of always looking like we want to attack and win.
  5. Fox's stats for 94/95 are class tbh. 10 goals and 11 assists in 40 matches.
  6. I really liked Fox like and preferred him to Gillespie before he seemed to cement his place as a starter.
  7. Watching this now and just waiting for some football to happen.
  8. I've got the afternoon to myself. Which match would you recommend I watch?
  9. Of course not, but howeh man, you must know that there's a stereotype attached to people who come out with things like groupthink, sheep/sheeple, virtue signalling, etc? And that it's not because they're free, independent thinkers or anything, but because they don't realise they're just from a different heard of sheep.
  10. Using groupthink, sheep and 'virtue signalling' like you learned of them through independent thought and not through... groupthink and being a sheep.
  11. People are far too willing to let these things become cop-out replacements for actual systemic change. No denying it's had a big impact and I have no issue with anyone taking the knee, but I do find it crazy how quickly it's gone from: Colin Kaepernick risking and losing a lot in a stand against racially motivated police brutality, on his own, largely against the establishment, and it being a huge talking point. to It being co-opted by inherently racist companies and an establishment that only want to use it for PR, it being expanded to 'all forms of discrimination', and it now being diluted to the point where it's becoming a solely symbolic gesture that's getting closer and closer to having about as much impact as Kick Racism out of Football.
  12. Think he would have if he could have, but Willock burned him for pace when Tielemans was midstep.
  13. Said this before he signed, but forget Cabaye, we're potentially looking at replacing Rob Lee level.

    Dan Burn

If you really think about it, being tall doesn't mean you're good in the air, it just means you have an advantage. Peter Crouch was pretty similar imo, much better when you played it into his feet. Likewise the whole 'good touch for a big man' thing shouldn't still be going on imo, I've known so many fatties who are silky as fuck.
  15. Rodgers often does that, but Pep does it often as well. Think it's that mentality they have where results come from playing the right way and if they play the right way and don't win, they're not going to criticise the team.
  16. Customary mention of James Milner getting booed. FWIW, I thought the sub booing was solely for Maddison and misinterpreted as being for Perez.
  17. All fake patter, positive or negative, is shit.
  18. Aye, I realised too late. I might be drunk like.
  19. Couldn't have staged that photo better tbh. Amazing
  20. Bet they were choking on their Werther's Originals.
  21. He's not once gone below a 7 in my ratings like. Burn and Schar have hit higher heights, but neither have been as consistent as Targett.
  22. Solid, unspectacular and dependable. Class performance from him.
