Barnes is exactly what a club with our ambition needs tbh - an impact sub in the mould of Trossard at Arsenal or Jota at Liverpool. Unfortunately we're nowhere near that kind of finishing touch signing yet, so if we really are still under the PSR thumb it probably is better to sell him tbh. It's as clear a sign as anything that we're going nowhere fast though. PSR in action, if we were able to push on Barnes is a perfect player to have in your armory.

Don't think should comes into it really. It will naturally attract criticism as a consequence and that criticism in itself isn't a restriction on freedom of speech, is also speech, and also shouldn't be restricted. Tbh, although every club has its stereotypical fan traights, the main concern for me now is that we're actually all becoming a cross-club monoculture of entitled customers with a bit of tribalism thrown in to seperate us from each other. Not saying it's the fans' fault either - if we're all treated like expendable customers rather than valued supporters, you can't really be surprised when a lot of people go on like 'I want to talk to the manager' types.

He's a romantic and has completely fallen out of love with football for pretty much all the reasons we bemoan about modern football. I have a ton of respect for him for it like.

Our season is basically broken down pretty equally like this imo. Matches we didn't deserve anything from but did. Matches we deserved something more from but didn't. Matches where, win, lose or draw, we got what we deserved. Very much swings and roundabouts so far.

This is how boring Man City always look to me. Nice seeing their brand of football coming unstuck.
