  1. It was class! Pong? Played it again, pretty much non stop, on an 8 hour Emirates flight a few years ago. Note to self: find that game!
  2. Fitting. Remarkable enough to have left the stratosphere…
  3. Hope you’re right, man. And it’s always nice having that feeling about a player. Have to say, that I have run out of patience and hope re Wood (and a couple of others) really think we are a bit short squad wise for where we could be— tactically and given the remaining quality and togetherness. Can’t help seeing what the misses (we don’t see the chances which could/would/should have been created) might mean, for example being knocked out of the FA Cup rather than equalising. Or not getting a firm contact on a ball that would have given us three points instead of one. Cumulatively such moments can determine the season and I just don’t trust Wood to take the chances, to be one of the players to make a positive difference.

  6. I like that. Find it comforting. A bit like ‘Let’s be careful out there’ from Hill Street Blues. But that probs gives away my ‘old codger’ status ?‍♂️
  7. 1995-96, 1996-97, & 2003-4 we lost 8 games. Finished second first two, 5th in latter one (17 draws!).
  8. I think Papa Eddie and Uncle Jason, need to take him aside and have the, errrhmm, facts of life chat. EH: “So, Sven. When two teams, who both love each other… JT:” Love to win, boss. Both love to win.” EH: “Yes, love to win.” SB: “Thee other love to win also?” He says with a perplexed look. EH: “Yes, Sven! That’s great…” JT: “He’s such a bright lad, isn’t he ah? Our Svenny!” Beaming a blinding grin, JT moves to pat the young Dutchman on the head, but thinks twice of it. EH: “Sometimes the other… JT: “Thee other, boss.” He says with a thumbs-up and an encouraging nod towards SB. EH: “Yes, Sven. THEE other team, well, they also love to win.” His core humanity brimming in to tears in his eyes. EH lets the monumental life truth sink in for his young protégé. There’s a, seemingly longer, twenty second DOES NOT COMPUTE look in the young man’s unfocused eyes. SB: “I see… .” He stands and walks towards the door, seemingly burdened by the weight of a newfound bitter truth. Before turning to the contemplative EH and wide-eyed and anxious JT. And then with a guttural growl announces: “But we will not let them, boss. They shall not win.” JT: “Good lad, Svenny. That’s right, that’s right, isn’t it boss?” EH nods. Silently watching the young colossus walk away before sending a tea lady arse over tit, when she tries to steer her trolley past him in the hall.
  9. That site is appalling when everyone is scrambling around like grannies at a jumble sale.
  10. Looked like a right arsehole didn’t he? Inability to control his own emotions/manage the stress (poor dimdums…) of not being able to win every single game you play, certainly wouldn’t have been helpful for his people on the pitch, the ones with a chance of actually determining how the game pans out. He wasn’t ‘motivating’ just emoting. Should be feeling embarrassed today more than aggrieved (…won’t be).
  11. Please prove us wrong—breakaway link-up between Murphy and Wood for winner ?
  12. Danger zone now. We’re tired and stretched.
  13. If they/we had known where we’d be in the league, we’d have had an additional attacking midfielder in the summer. Not sure re a forward, just bad luck re Isak.
  14. Love it. Don’t like it up ‘em (contrary to popular Toten-opinion). Get into them!
  15. Ooof! Sir Les and Merse on punditry. perfect.
