I’ve gone from a brimming with confidence, firm belief, that we’ll definitely beat Southampton and fancying to beat either of the other two in the final, to angsting over how all three seeming massively improved and how we’re having a terribly-timed loss of form.

I get your theory, we didn’t have enough winners/believe we could do it etc., but the facts of the matter are we would have won the league (all other things being the same) if we had beaten Man Utd at home; check the eventual points total. We didn’t deserve to win away, but we were definitely the better side at home. To my mind a more one sided game than the 5-0 the following season.

He would be almost unplayable. Most good players tend to only be exceptional at dribbling or passing though. Tough ask hoping for a Ben Arfa-Nobby Solano (or Bruno Guimaraes) hybrid. Latter two are, I think, players I have most enjoyed watching pick out, and execute, awesome long and short passes.

Yep, that’s what I meant. Not sure myself that is the reason Longstaff is playing. I wouldn’t mind seeing how Shelvey and Bruno might work—assume Bruno would move to 8 role— for a few games at least, but guessing JJ is seen now as cover for Bruno in the main.

Do you think Shelvey would play as well as Bruno?

Not arsed either way, two good options (how many times have been able to say that!) and not sure whether Wilson needs more minutes or stood down for a bit. I have a sneaky feeling, based on nowt in particular, that Isak will start.

Whether they consciously phone it in or not, it already looks like they both have been at times, there will likely come a point when it is clear that this season is a write off—particularly for Chelsea.
