  1. Starting to get a bit of control and fluency now HTL!
  2. I be bit suspicious myself, pet. Man Utd supporting hubby cranking up his Brownie points but may have been purely self-centred (as per…) just trying to get someone in their shirt near the trophy this year.
  3. Hope so, just so Kieran can put the bite on him!
  4. Sadly, not me that time ?
  5. You didn’t happen to hear a full version of the Blaydon Races in their did you?? (Edit: scratch that, looks like it, but don’t think it’s the right pub).
  6. Saw someone get the 1983 one tattooed right across the top of his head—about 5 inch diameter. He must be 60ish now, still makes me chuckle wondering he’s gone bald.
  7. Keep scanning these crowd pics of the Gallowgate in hope of spotting a youthful me. Not going to happen is it. Anyone ever seen themselves?
  8. Well… I mean… actually I’ve got nothing to say. Just questions forming out of the murky mists of bewilderment in my mind. Mainly, I guess, ‘Why would you?’ Oh! And having done so, I.e. added this little ditty and dance-along in the ‘kitchenette’ as the entertainment for your evening soirée, what would posses you to think it was a good idea to share it? To draw attention to the rank nothingness of your existence and share with the wider world??
  9. They’ve beaten Chelsea, drawn with Arsenal and West Ham at home, and haven’t really been turned over by anyone. All the pundits and bookies seem to fancy us to win. Pep is touting us as one of their rivals to win the league. We haven’t lost a game for decades (it seems…). No Joelinton. The perfect pre-match cocktail for a loss! I initially thought we would lose (we are going to lose games…). Now I don’t. We are organised and capable of winning games even when not playing well. It’ll be close tight game, could go either way but I think our momentum will carry us. Even if we lose, it won’t change my optimism re the Chelsea game. Really looking forward to seeing how we do. Each game, each addition (hopefully) of three points, takes us a step closer to the end goal we can realistically hope for this season. Let’s us enjoy the ride; might be the last season we are playing without the burden of high expectations from the start. Exciting times!
  10. Football is a working class sport. Working class people, talking more historically when the concept/divide could be seen from the moon and was crossed by few, weren’t/don’t have to be foul mouthed irreverent and abusive. And not saying you are making it, but I resent the/any implication of amorality. I recall my grandfather, who worked as a ganger laying tracks for GNER, chasing (in his slippers!) and slapping daft three drunken young men for swearing in front of and then at my grandmother. Suspect he was as colourful as anyone with his use of language, in the right place.
  11. All the ‘achievements’ and prefer the championship/League One etc banter reminds me of Meet the Fokkers’ Wall of Gaylord:
  12. Maybe: “Show me the money!”
  13. Make sure you all vote folks ? (another quote for you!)

    Dan Burn

    And a Geordie great.
  15. 20 mins!? Surely Bryan would have done More Than This? Not to worry though, he’d never Kiss and Tell. Wonder what’s her name, Virginia…? (…I’m stopping now)
  16. Gameweek 15 Leeds 2-2 Bournemouth Man City 3-1 Fulham Forest 2-0 Brentford Wolves 1-2 Brighton Everton 3-2 Leicester Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal Villa 0-1 Man United Southampton 1-2 Newcastle West Ham 1-0 Palace Spurs 0-2 Liverpool
  17. I think he’s probably accepting of the ‘if you’ve got the shirt, and are performing, you keep the shirt’ kind of approach Howe (admirably) employs. He knows he’s trusted and he’s part of something great which which happening here. He’ll get his chance.
  18. Thought I should post this here as well as 7thometer. Quite astonishing the numbers EH has achieved thus far. Just looked detail at our record under Eddie Howe and his merry band. Two time periods. Since, first his official first game in charge, Norwich at home. Second, allowing him a six game period/month or so to have an influence, since January this year. First/Total: P38, W19, D10, L 9, Pts 67; F53, A43, GD10. Points per game (PPG) 1.76. 2022 only: P32, W18, D8, L6, Pts 62; F49, A30, GD 19. PPG 1.94. In the 30 EPL seasons to date, 1.94 PPG would have been enough for a 2nd place finish on 6 occasions; 3rd 16 times; 4th 26 times; and enough for 5th on 29 of the 30. If within one season, it would represent our second best return (2.05 ppg in 95-96 was our best; 2nd in 96-97 was less, 1.79ppg). The above is remarkable, outstanding, choose your word, at anytime. Taking into account where we were when he took over. The abject performances and record low points for us, there can never have been a greater transformation at this football club, nor many, if any, others.
