  1. Can’t get Jarrow Song out of mind since someone reminded us of it t’other day. Singing as I do eggy bread breakfast ?
  2. Based on strength of opposition, plus home and away variation, I reckon this is how a top ten kind of season progresses: End of August 5 points. End of Sep 11 points. End of Oct 21 points. End of Dec 26 points. End of Jan 30 points. End of Feb 36 points. End of Mar 40 points. End of Apr 49 points. End of May 54 points. (10th had 51 points last year; 59 in 2020-21: 54 2019-20). On track for?
  3. I reckon that 10th or above would be acceptable. I think we’ll finish 8th. I hope we finish 6th. FA Cup, is all dependent on the draw, so making a decent attempt/putting out a strong team is acceptable. I think we’ll win two games. I hope we get to at least a semi-final. League Cup, as above is acceptable. I think we’ll get to a quarter final. I hope we win it.
  4. Sick to the back teeth of all the how much money have we really got, are we just shit at transfers craic. Roll on tomorrow! I’m away but hoping to be able to see it or listen (somehow). I’ll thinking of all there, and elsewhere who are equally back on board with our team. Howay the lads
  5. Well that the third combo being mooted ? Quite nice to have choice really! (… hope it’s Schar & Botman).
  6. In the last four months or so, Almiron has scored two worldies (for Paraguay against a good Ecuador side; for us against Palace—our goal of the season?) and 6 goals (two assists) preseason. I don’t want to slur Ayoze, not least as you say because he wasn’t usually played in his strongest position, but suffice to say that I’m not sure his finishing is any sexier than Miggy’s on the above run of form.
  7. Heard Botman talking about his whole family coming over for the game. Really hope he plays but, as much as I could make out from the still photographs, it looked like Schar and Burn were on the same side for the 11 a side practice. Which could support the Lascelles Botman partnership as well, but made me think that the first two might get the nod.
  8. That’s the key thing. But you really need to ‘pull up trees’/stand out. I hope that it will happen for Anderson, but it hasn’t yet. And the whole players we let go as youths thing, it is hardly exact science. We’ve let many more go who haven’t gone on to play at the highest level, or at all. Players/people develop at different ages. What are you going to do, keep everyone just in case?
  9. Both are acceptable/common place pronunciations, tbf. Fuck the Jimmy Carter fuelled bullshit (now there’s an antiquated reference!).
  10. And they know this how? (Certainly not Howe).
  11. Can we have Jesus? Given the prices we’re being held to, he’s starting to look like a £45m absolute steal! ?
  12. We accrued 12 more points than West Ham and Leicester in the last 19 games (they both managed 27 points). That is huge and surely can’t just be siege mentality. It’s not like our last few games had a better return; it is a whole half season.
  13. I kind of like it and 2moz. Adds a bit of a casual conversational vibe.
  14. Wage is no doubt a stumbling block, not just for us; imagine other destination(s) will want some percentage contribution from Chelsea. I have also wondered whether he is after a central striker role and guarantees of that. Basing this on World Cup year, assumption he plays there for Germany (?), and that is where he flourished/made his name. I imagine Howe would not amenable to this, given Wilson/our needs for a wide forward.
  15. Well said, that man. Debate is healthy ?
  16. Eventually got a ticket for a match whoop-whoop! LWC LF7. Will be a new view for me.
  17. Comes over as a deluded, entitled little scamp. No idea if he is.
  18. Danger Fourpence is probably available for less.
  19. Does it make anyone else anxious that ‘everyone’ is going for a Newcastle win?
  20. The crazy bloke, telling Dave, what the Camel in Tesco’s carpark told him.
  21. Osimhen, Werner and Wijnaldum. Just put that in there to make: Maddison, Werner and Cornet seem less optimistic.
