First sentence produced a ‘Whaaat?’ Second a genuine laugh out loud 😂 (harsh but funny).

Newcastle United 0-2 Manchester City [LCSF 1st Leg] (13/01/25)

Well technically he was offside (just). And he did interfere because he wrestled Thiaw half a yard away from where the ball went in. Freaky decision but a right one. -

We had a great bench but when you can bring on Cherki (even better than Doku imo) Ait Nouri and fecking Rodri… 🤷♂️ -

Well that’s Sandro and Bruno who have had a deliberate pop at Silva since Joelinton’s altercation with him. TEAM! -

Pisser. Ramsey would have been on Silva. -

I agree. It just feels frustrating in games like this because you know you need to take chances like that. Was his wrong foot as was his other chance. -

Ramsey needs to stop checking back when in possession and run with the ball. -
Piece on BBC Sport stating that there have been 14 VAR errors thus far this season (some seem dubious/still contentious to me). We haven’t been negativity affected by any, but have benefitted from two. Burn trip on Ouattara in 3-1 lost versus Brentford. Schar block on Foden in 2-1 win over Man Blues (same will do nicely).

Let’s hope not. Might be fit relatively soon.

Good location for where most of them seem to live.

Just saw him ghosting past all comers and banging in a goal in a soccer sixes thing on Sky. Looks a player!

If we need a young right back who can play centre back and has a bit of ‘head room’ in terms of quality and value then my extensive ‘Wise’ scouting suggests we go shopping in Portugal. Couple of 6ft young guns who remind me of Tino: Fresneda is Spanish (Real Madrid youth product) few under 21 caps and thirty odd first team appearances for Sporting. Fernandes is Portuguese, a couple of years younger (19), but similar in terms of appearances and profile. Plays for Porto/been there since a kid. Or

Lose to Brentford win the rest.

Ah! Apologies. We were a little off the pace League wise but hey ho. It is off the pace Eddie has set not our usual pace.

It might seem like that, but we played 38 league games in the calendar year. Won 18, drew 6, lost 14. Scored 62 conceded 50 and points per game (ppg) was 1.58 (worse than 2022 2.00ppg, 2023 1.65pph, and 2024 1.66ppg) but comparing to whole seasons 1.58ppg would be our 11th best PL era season (so top third). Cup wise, we also beat Arsenal twice, Liverpool (pretty memorable one!), Bradford, Spurs, and Fulham in the Carabao cup (no losses in year). Bromley and Birmingham in the FA Cup (losing to Brighton). R. Union SG, Benfica, & Athletico Bilbao in the CL. Drawing away to Leverkusen and losing away to Marseille. So cup wise, P15, W11, D1, L3. GF 34 GA12. So not really shit by our or anyone’s standards (plus 🏆 of course).
