  1. There’s a black pudding sketch by the Goodies which I couldn’t possibly reference without sounding like a casual racist. That said, I can actually confirm from Maiden Castle days it would not be inaccurate!
  2. Not so sure, just looks like what it is. A group not used to playing together so not a slick team, with the kind mind reading fluid movement you get with repetition.
  3. Just a second too late, half a yard short a few times. But more game time and he’ll be a real asset.
  4. Someone said Andy Cole vibes, I was thinking more (dare I say…) Jermaine Defoe meets Jamie Vardy hybrid.
  5. I’m enjoying it. Would be a great game for a neutral—obvs would prefer to be three up!
  6. Lads are getting used to each other. Really nice spell. Of actual attacking play.
  7. Or, you can collect it and smear all ower the screen if the play ‘poop’. Options
  8. Well, it would be if that was the direct inference. Or even if forwards just independently play well regardless of what’s happening elsewhere in the team. It was a game for experienced heads. Keeping hold of the ball and making better decisions across the pitch might have produced more opportunities for the front three and for everyone else.

    Jacob Murphy

Never out of Khai Khai, apparently, lives on Tarka Dahl and red wine.
  10. If we’d got João Pedro and, assuming we would have still gone for him, Ekitike, I wonder where we would be this season?
  11. That’s a full unleashing! But agree, think the time might be right to sell, if viable, as much as we all love Big Joe. Kees Smit and a more, preferably defensively minded (for me), established midfielder coming the other way.

FWIW, Murphy didn’t look to be moving freely in last full game I watched with him in. That said, looked like his right ankle to me, but 🤷‍♂️
  13. Not a rating of the window, but 16 games in, of the strikers we had, we got, and those we wanted, not many are pulling up trees. The ‘whole games’ is league minutes played/90.

That must have been a terrible night’s sleep for the big fella. Suffering on all levels. Glad there wasn’t any serious internal organ damage. Apparently Shay Given keeled over, and would have died without medical intervention, following a similar injury: “Internal bleeding (2006): In a match for Newcastle against West Ham, Given suffered a severe abdominal injury after a collision with Marlon Harewood. A specialist compared the internal damage to that caused by hitting a steering wheel in a car crash, and Given later revealed the injury could have been fatal if the internal bleeding had leaked during their flight back to Newcastle.”
