  1. Well I would love to see it, too. It’s not hard to imagine how their styles could blend. Could be our very own modern version of SAS (Shearer and Sheringham) double trouble!
  2. Well it is an opinion, but when—and love him or hate him, he was one of the best ever—Paul Scholes states he is the best midfielder in the Premier League you have to take the opposite view, which many NUFC fans have, seriously.
  3. Probably need Osula to be fit or another body in January for Howe to even try it. Not having a replacement striker could be a catalyst for even more late losses.
  4. 😂 I had the same thought. Just need to confirm he’s red-black colour blind and then he can justifiably put it in his highlights reel. … if you’re going to score an own goal, score a cracker! (too soon?)
  5. Just had a quick squizz, Sunderland are losing four players who started against us, so presumably over a third of their preferred first 11. Their other two have only featured in 3 or 4 games. Fulham are losing two regular starters (Bassey, defender and Iwobi, midfielder) who FPL points wise, at least, seem like two of their better players. Plus Chukwueze who appears to have been mainly a sub.
  6. Fair do’s. I’ve just listened to the press conference. He said he agreed with 90% of the first part of what Bruno had said (disagreed with the, literal interpretation, of the ‘we were a mess’ comment which seems accurate, as in we were if anything probably too structured) and 100% of the second part of what Bruno said. Re the embarrassment and need to put it right. Howe was hurting on Sunday and verging on squirming today. Nothing ‘spineless’ (grasping to not use your c word) about either for me. He said, in effect, they set up the team in a very similar way as they did against Everton and, for whatever reason, the players didn’t execute the plan/perform as they can. All the pain and blame-seeking will drift into the mists of time if we have a great second half of the season (particularly if it includes giving the Makems a wake up call in March).
  7. Oof! What a beauty. You know what’s depressing (no not that…) I had a season ticket at that time but can’t recall seeing that goal 🤷‍♂️
  8. Wouldn’t take it too literally just seems to be @et tu brute’s favourite condemnation (am I right?). Just wondering, is Eddie Howe now Caesar in our nice little post ‘event’ debriefing drama? 🤔
  9. Full details of who: https://www.premierleague.com/en/news/4499030/which-premier-league-players-are-participating-in-africa-cup-of-nations-afcon-2025-in-morocco
  10. I’m not quoting your post @Pilko but fair play man. Loughborough would give you a doctorate for that!
  11. Oh go on then… . This game is the start of the rest of our season (and other inspiration quotes which still feel a bit hollow).
  12. Will we ante up that much? As maverick as Eddie is, you’ve got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em after all. (One for the oldies).
  13. It’s a fair point, but if there was ever a game where Trippier would have been a major asset it is yesterday. This is even more the case given Tino, who found lots of good space at times, looked off his usual reliably with the ball. Some poor passes and choices in general and a relative absence of his attacking runs with the ball.
  14. If you ever had any lingering doubts about how emotionally invested Bruno is in Newcastle United and their fans, not that I can imagine any rational person would, watch that interview. He is hurting like we would.
  15. As unlikely as it seems at the moment, we could still be back on track for top six by the end of this month. Three wins is the only way to secure this (though it is 8 points we need). This is based on average points required per month taking into account strength of opposition etc. More realistic, perhaps, is the 17 points required before the end of January; from 24 available. 2.1 points per game still seems a huge ask though.
  16. Your post just happened to be the last in a series which I found exasperating. Not just writing for you to read, as you are surely well aware. Just hoping to reality check or offer an alternate opinion.
  17. No you’re right, nearly typed mein reich fuhrer, but that would have been rude. I don’t mean to infer you have that mentality, but to be fair it would have been no ruder than the ‘Who the fuck are you?’ reply you initially gave me. So maybe because we are all disappointed with a loss to the unwashed, and a few late disappointments in games (like those in the Champions League we qualified for last season or against the reigning League champions) and missing the chance to go to the right end of the table—the know the one we’re we have pretty much consistently been under Howe—let’s imagine he has lost the dressing room and consider sacking him. Apologies, but I can’t seriously entertain that kind or reasoning without the odd expletive or sarcastic comment creeping in.
  18. It was nuanced albeit sarcastic. He is our second best performing manager in the PL era. We’re on about the same points per game this calendar year as previous years, despite the load and having to re-adjust striker wise. We’ve had two cup finals, two CL qualifications, and you’re thinking he should go? You can think that if you like, just like I can think that you should give your head a shake and/or grow a pair. And know you’re playing the I should ban you card? If that’s not abuse of ‘power’ I don’t know what is.
  19. Same applies. It is not a shock read some of the extreme reactions, although yours was more nuanced was still a shock to read you verging on the same.
  20. Someone with a memory and ability to see particular results in the round, oh and take a bit of disappointment without chucking my toys out of the pram. Seems many can’t.
  21. No post match interview yet. Is it right he has resigned, Andy? Oh no. Just for second imagined he was a fucking snow flake fruit loop like the rest of you.
