Fully agree. The rules around this new way haven’t even been hashed out yet. Can guarantee there’ll be some major lobbying going on. Whatever it is will be better than what’s currently in place.

And this bit may sound a bit Liam Neeson but when he does kick the bucket.. I will find out where he’s buried.. and I will go on a personal adventure to piss on his grave. If he’s cremated I’ll find out where his ashes were scattered and I’ll go take a piss there. I’ll never forgive for those years he stole from us.

It’s annoying to think we could have had him for around the 40m mark.. probably less than what West Ham paid for him. Jury is still out but could probably make an assumption that he’d have been a better signing than our Italian.

I think that’s sort of taking the piss.. but even at that, it’s not enough in one for what we’d want to be doing. I mean like some sort of financial investment house that’s operated under the trading name for the club.. or something like that. Like for example.. PIF invest in stocks.. could they not divert some of that money to the club.. who then invest in stocks and the dividends come back in throughout the year as profit we can use? It’s a long term strategy I guess.

I hated him being here but I actually liked him (if that makes sense). He was just a normal bloke with a cartoonish ego and made no apology for who or what he was. Suffered with his health for quite some time.. and it’s a shame that it was dementia that got him.. always thought he’d check out with a massive heart attack. In any case.. RIP Joe.

Well I said “as possible” which I guess means the same thing as your last sentence about taking the piss, or not as the case may be. Us having to run our deals past people for approval needs to stop though.. we should be allowed to operate away from the microscope but be able to be fully transparent when being audited. I’d like to see them think outside the box in terms of revenue streams.. like is there anything preventing the club from operating an internal investment house that we could use as a revenue stream? Like what things are we not allowed do?

The club should be and will try to match the revenue of the other top earners in the league. It takes time and they’ll need to do it as organically as possible. We won’t get away with dodgy deals like other clubs have done. New stadium is a must in my opinion. SJP just can’t generate that sort of revenue to compete with Man Utd, Spurs or Arsenal.

Got better as half wore on. Barnes the difference again.. brought the “fret” A good week overall in terms of points. Patchy in terms of general play but we’re still in with a sniff of European places.

Could tell 5 minutes in we weren’t at the races today. Look tired physically and mentally (even worse). Improved after Dubs tactical “injury treatment” but several players look like they can’t get going. Be astonished if we get more than a point today.

That’s not bad, at least something on the bench to change things up a bit later on. Hopefully we’re not chasing the game

Old Trafford was already a huge ground but those charts really add weight to the building a new stadium notion. Spurs and Arsenal also have massive revenue from match day. We could easily do those numbers.

Refuse to get carried away by this. I haven’t seen anything from PIF to suggest that they won’t behave responsibly. Their model is to have a sustainable club with healthy income. They might loosen the belts slightly in terms of transfer spend but I highly doubt you’ll see any massive shift in strategy. I’m fine with this.

That might keep him for another season or so. There’s no doubt he loves the club.. I think it’ll be Madrid, Bayern or Barca he goes to if he ever leaves. He’d be wasting his time at PSG and he knows it.

The only other team you can compare in terms of high intensity is Liverpool and if you look over the years.. they have a season where they push like mad and a “cooler” season where they seem to ease up a bit. They have far less injuries than us but still probably more injuries than the average club. Someone mentioned before that the alleged asthma inhalers that most of their squad use can’t be used in a way for sports gains in the long term.. you have to ease off or the body won’t see any benefit. Now I reckon Howe is asking the players who am guessing don’t all have asthma to produce the same kind of output as Liverpool but season after season with a smaller squad.. I’m not in any way surprised we have so many injury issues. I just don’t think he knows how to perfect that recipe, he doesn’t have a plan B. So next season he’ll do the same thing. Assuming the fatigue is an accumulative thing, if we sign a couple of first team players they’ll probably be able to cope with the intensity… for 1 season.. into season two and the wheels will fall off which has happened to most of our squad this year.

Privately there’s no way he’ll be thinking that.. he’ll be massively pissed off. But publicly he did the correct thing there. A manager should always deflect and shield criticism from players. We will probably need to play Dummett again before season is over so he needs everyone on side.

Not going to have a pop at him.. he prepared the team well and we created loads of chances. Now if he had any notions about certain players being ones he can trust, that should hopefully put that to bed.
