  1. The loan didn’t bother me at all, although in hindsight it weakened us for the final. I think he backed himself to have a stab at the no.1 spot there because there was no way he was getting in ahead of Pope. His confidence must have taken a battering in recent seasons so he’s taken a while to return to the levels we’ve seen in last two games. Pope won’t be thrown in when he’s available either.. so looks like he’ll be no.1 choice for the remainder of season. The psychological side of injuries like that will play their part too.. for example not throwing yourself down to save as willingly as you would have before. So it will take Pope some time to build confidence that he won’t get hurt again.

We’d have to go somewhere for a season or two. Scotland.. how about Murrayfield? Just over 2 hours travel on the train. Has hosted football matches before and am sure the Scottish Rugby Union wouldn’t turn down the rent money.
  3. The press is on its way back, still don’t think they have 100% confidence in it yet though. Wolves had the better of the play and looked to be in control but we’ve played well on the break.. scoreline flatters us so we’ll probably need another to feel safe
  4. 19 clubs backing it.. I think the key thing to look at is that they will ease the rules in.. so the first 2-4 windows for transfers will be line the Wild West for those with the cash.
  5. I think you’re focussed on the wrong part of your own sentence. Enough bad performances to remember a line being “trotted out” is surely the concern?
  6. He’s got enough credit built up so that recent performances will be met with a general apathy.. there’s no genuine anger yet but there will be. If we’d played like that with Steve Bruce as manager, there’d be multiple posts of cabbages and die in a house fire type rants. But that’s how bad we’ve been playing lately.
  7. It would seem with every passing week more and more people are coming to my way of thinking when it comes to EH.. I’ve thought his goose has been cooked for months now and nothing I’ve seen, even the odd win, has changed my mind. We need a change. I like him though.. maybe not quite as much as Rafa but he’s always represented us very well so I’m annoyed that this will probably drag on long enough that the good memories will be overshadowed by the pure frustration of watching the team at the moment.
  8. We’re so shit at the moment. You’d wonder what they do be working on between games.
  9. If you get caught, the punishment should be optional.. take a points hit or if you can afford it, pay a fine where the proceeds get through to lower leagues or grassroots.
  10. Hearing a settlement is agreed now in excess of 20m
  11. Liverpool had a dysfunctional midfield and their defence took the flack.. they brought in quality and now look solid again. Were the same.. our midfield and attack has been rank this season so it’s inevitable that the back line will come under more pressure.
  12. Mentioned in another thread, it’s 25 goals in 10 PL games.. it’s shocking really considering how tight we were at the back.
  13. Oh it would never happen, I’m not deluded.. but Howe is just going to tread water if he stays in as is.. if he gets sacked, takes a break and goes off to find himself, he’ll do a solid job for someone else when he decides to step back in. I’d just rather that was something we’d have first option on.
  14. It’s not about dying on a hill. I think Howe is done currently.. but it’s nothing that a said time away to recharge and upskill wouldn’t fix. But that doesn’t exist in the current way football structures work so he’ll likely just get sacked after a period of time.. it may not be the summer.. could be middle of next season and it’ll almost feel like everything he achieved was for nothing when the vibe turns on him.. and it will.
  15. You just don’t get the concept. Managers that have the energy to just go again season after season are few and far between. Maybe 3 or 4 in world football. There’s a bunch of very effective managers who can give 2/3 good seasons before fatigue kicks in. Eddie Howe is a spent force currently but does that make him a bad manager? No it doesn’t.. I think he could do with a break though. We sack him, someone else will benefit in a year or so. So what if we had someone else who could come in while Eddie took on a Football Director type role.. while having the time to recharge, upskill and come back with fresh ideas. 2/3 years and that person takes up the role and Eddie steps back in. You have a squad that never gets stale with training and a plan. It’s not a new idea.. Alex Ferguson didn’t do any of the training.. he got good coaches in and the team stayed fresh.. then changed it up every 3/4 seasons. But no current manager will ever have a stranglehold on a club like the way SAF did and Eddie Howe is too loyal to his current team so it’ll only go one way unfortunately. I don’t think the concept is totally unreasonable.
  16. You're so incredibly dull.. possibly the most dull individual on this forum. No interesting opinions, just sit on the fence and hope life passes you by. Your repeated attempts at trying to bait are of no interest to me.. a cabbage would be more fun to engage with. So respectfully, fuck off.
  17. I fear he’s going to be given the transfer window and we’ll blow our wad on something Bournemouth. They were men against boys tonight and it shouldn’t be that way because our squad are anything but that..
  18. We’ve shipped 25 goals in the last 10 PL games..
  19. Edwards may be tempted. Only the owners and the senior management which included Ashworth will know the full scale of the plans..
  20. Such a horrible club. We have a rapist that happens to be a decent player.. “oh we’ll see what happens there” Annoyed me with those comments today. Fuck them.. double down. Ask them for 60m now. We are in the strong position here. Good luck in your garden you fucking weasel.
  21. Such bad defending from Brentford there.
  22. I assume we’ll have to change our model a bit, unless whoever comes in has an instant grasp of the structure and then just builds on it in their own way. And that’s probably for the best anyway.. you don’t want Dan Ashworth working for a competitor who knows exactly what our process is should they be going for some of the same types of players in the transfer window.
