St Max is clearly the most skilful individual at the club, but in terms of team balance Howe obviously thinks the balance is better without him currently. I suspect protecting Dan Burn at LB is a big part of Howe’s current mindset aswell.

St Max hasn’t been frozen out he’s been eased back for weeks on the bench. The trouble is Wilson is irreplaceable whereas we have coped adequately without St Max.

If Eddie wants PL experience it limits our options and can’t see how anyone would want McTominay over say Kone.
