  1. Szob is the new Paqueta I feel, we like him but not a priority in the clubs eyes i fear.
  2. Lucky escape hearing many mags have been death stared recently and had to get on their toes quickly. Stay safe anyone wearing NUFC merch in public.
  3. He does look raw and your typical pacy wide man, not many have the qualities you mention, which is why Szob probably is the standout target to fill the wide right slot.
  4. Kudus seems very left footed but spends a lot of his time on right side of attack from what I’ve seen. Howe seems to like inverted wide men, think he could do a canny job on right side, though always the risk that comes with players from Dutch league.
  5. All the priority positions most people would consider need strengthening. Reassuring.
  6. Even better genuine alternative to Szob and in last year of contract.
  7. If we can’t get Szob who can cover midfield and out wide, I wonder if the club will go another route such as an out and out winger like Kudus. If we signed Kone and Kudus for example I’d be quite happy to forget about Szob, and I think that would arguably make us much stronger.
  8. Exactly folk are just seeing the 40 million fee it goes way beyond that. Our wages need to be kept in check until our income matches the old top 6. We’re not there yet and if Maddison downs tools after a year who the fuck is picking up those wages, it’ll hamper any squad rebuild going forward. The club know what they’re doing and a 22 year old on 80k a week is much more where we’re currently at.
  9. Just echoing what Caulkin said last week, def changes like the wind does Luke.
  10. I think Tonali’s wages will be less than Maddison and he’s already doing it on the big stage at Milan winning the league and playing in CL semi finals.
  11. Thank fuck for that there’s a reason the real top teams aren’t after him. He’s not a bargain on those reported wages, whatever the fee is.
  12. Nice don’t want to sell this summer apparently, had a feeling Ineos would be tough negotiators.
  13. It appears Edwards has shot his load early again.
  14. This must be a new phenomenon as though I don’t wear strips anymore, in my younger days can’t ever remember being decked or abused by a massive lads fan. It’s almost as if they make this shit up.
  15. Brighton heavily linked with Kudus from Ajax. Whatever happens this summer we need to upgrade the right side of our front 3. This lad looked impressive during World Cup and could be a cheaper option.
  16. Need to invest in some heater lamps for the boulevard mind, as Leazes Terrace will never see the sun again once we’re finished with this new stand.
  17. Like the idea of turning Leazes terrace into a continental boulevard. Not sure how it would work when the likes of Feyernoord visit with all them chairs lying about though.
  18. Don’t think it’s that simple I thought after Tonali it would be an attacking midfielder like Szob or Maddison. Now I’m not so sure how are they intending to use Tonali, could we still be after a true DM like Fofana or Kone ? If so maybe this is where Franca comes in to provide competition out wide. I still think we’re interested in Szob but is that depending on an exit such as St Max. Then by all accounts we also want a central defender which I also think is a must.
  19. https://www.footballfancast.com/newcastle-nufc-premier-league-youssouf-fofana-transfer-news-updates/ Fofana fits the bill and seems to tick a lot of boxes, think we’d still need a wide/creative player if we signed him though.
  20. Bruno - Fofana - Tonali Szob - Isak - Joe Its physical and def some creativity there.
  21. It’s definitely FFP related and maximising what we can do.
  22. Aye, turning up at Joker Park to get signatures was fucking beyond low. They used to get pelters when standing at greys monument. If I recall correctly they even had the gall to object to the expansion of SJP due to increased traffic. They we’re basically NIMBYs with a few genuine tree huggers amongst them.
  23. He implied it lots of articles whilst the takeover was in limbo.
  24. Very true, also instead of building an arena like Sir John wanted, the current SJP could become an extended regenerated Leazes Park. Leazes Terrace would have views over the new park and we could have a Wembley Way going through it to the new stadium, the current land at St James metro could house a new fanzone and huge club shop. This sort of regeneration would be a great project for PIF and give the city centre a new bigger park right on its door step. Change can sometimes be good if St James is deemed not feasible for redevelopment.
  25. Aye, stick it on the links the Briardene can become the new Strawberry. After all North Tyneside is home to the hardest and most fervent mags about. Just ask the mackems when they got chased into the Tyne by North Shields finest. North Tyneside council loves selling off the green belt so planning permission won’t be a problem.
