I’m as guilty as anyone for watching the Paqueta highlight reel and thinking sign him up. However, I have this feeling he might be like a lot of flair players and a bit inconsistent, slightly concerns me that Lyon would drop him for their biggest game of the season. We clearly need someone to unlock the door moving forward, but for 50 million i’d rather see that go on a top striker or centre half to strengthen the spine of team.

Don’t think it’ll be Benton Park View, got a feeling land to west of city towards airport is where they’re eyeing up. A more rural location with good road links and quick access to Newcastle International will be the desired location in my opinion.

Aye him aswell.

Wouldn’t be disappointed with Eriksson as a cheaper alternative to Paqueta, if it meant getting a real top striker and winger. Bearing in mind Nunez has signed with Mendes it could be a good sign that we are already dealing with him. From the Irish Independent. ‘However, it has been clear since the beginning of the year that Murphy's big move would be to the UK with a host of clubs in the mix and Newcastle have made an assertive move for his services. The player has been represented in talks by Polaris Sports, the Jorge Mendes controlled firm that has expanded its Irish operation to sign up promising young talent in the League of Ireland with Johnny Kenny (Sligo Rovers to Celtic) and Killian Phillips (Drogheda to Crystal Palace) two other players from the stable to move in the past six months.’

Highlight of the article. The NUST chair said: "They are phenomenal people, they get Newcastle United. They are incredibly ambitious, you cannot fail to be impressed when you spend time in their company. "They are ambitious, tenacious, and know what they are doing. Taking off your trust hat for a moment, as a Newcastle fan you leave that room and cannot fail to be excited about the plans that they have, their passion for it and the ambition of the consortium. From a footballing perspective and rebuilding the club, it is exciting times to come." https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/inside-exciting-75-minute-newcastle-23678653

Pull the other one Fanny you probably thought Gvardiol was some cheap Spanish beer on draft.
-
Gvardiol would work his way in as Bruno did, he’s young despite being better than the current 2 and the PL is a different animal.
-
This is the team I’d like to see kick off next season, tried to keep it realistic but hard not to get carried away. Dubravka Trippier - Schar - Burn - Hickey Bruno - Haidara St Max - Paqueta - Diaby Wilson If we got the above which would be a hefty outlay, I’d be happy with any of the following as backup with huge potential. CF Hlozek / Ekitike CB Kelly / Gvardiol

The most annoying thing about Merino is that when fit towards the back end of that season, Rafa completely froze him out despite being safe with a few games to go. Regardless of the release clause I got the impression he didn’t think his career was going as planned under Benitez.
-
We we’re linked with Haidara from Leipzig in January, would be a good alternative if we can’t get Phillips. Whilst I think Ward Prowse is good he wouldn’t be my choice, I’d prefer someone more athletic and combative alongside Bruno.
-
Think Almiron, Hayden and Lascelles could get us about 30 million. Obviously not the real dead wood but certainly expendable if we are upgrading in the summer.
-
Could also see that Johnson lad from Forrest joining alongside Hickey. Develop them 2, Anderson and we’ll have some promising youngsters pushing for a starting place.

Currently flying outside his Park Lane apartment opposite Hyde Park. Hope he brings it back for next Sunday. -
As much as I’d love to see a Nunez or Isak type signing you may be right. Unless PIF decide to really fast forward things, all the noises seem to be evolution and not revolution this summer. I also think Howe will favour this approach and I think we’ll see a real push to lower the age of squad. I’ve got a feeling the striker will end up being Ekitike or someone similar with potential. I’d also love to see someone like Diaby or Antony, but have a feeling it’ll end up looking something along these lines. GK Johnstone or Henderson CB Kelly Bournemouth LB Hickey AM Paqueta Winger Eze CF Ekitike

You just know he wouldn’t give a toss about the Saudi’s if they had taken over the SMB’s. They’ve completely lost the plot in order to try and deal with the fact they’ll never be able to compete with us again. It must be torture for the poor cunt.

Another good rating from the Bristol press today. Elliot Anderson - 8 The Newcastle loanee saw plenty of the ball and was at his usual bullish best, providing many moments of concern for Tranmere. Brought the Gas back on terms with a fine finish inside the box. Continued to play his usual game, bullying Tranmere players when they tried to take the ball of him. -

Should be a good one on Easter Sunday about time we beat these at home. -
Aye, starting to think Fofana could be an upgrade in this position if Howe wants a dynamic midfielder.

One of the tightest defences in the league what did people expect. One of the most impressive results of the season so far. -
