  1. Who knows but I think we’ll see how determined and committed to getting this deal done, all 3 members of the consortium we’re once this is approved. It’ll be a great story to hear and the scenes in town will be something to behold if bars are open. If certain people are correct and arbitration does begin this month, the pathway to completion might not be to far away. HWTFL
  2. This from Tony Evans ‘The takeover could be done very quickly. All the preparation work that takes time before a transaction was completed last year. A price renegotiation would need to take place if the unthinkable happened and Newcastle went down, but the figures are straightforward and that would not take long’. And this from Liam Kennedy are the most important lines from today. ‘The Gazette understands the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia have given their word to the consortium, also made up of the Reuben Brothers and PCP Capital Partners, they will return to the Newcastle United takeover process when a path to the deal is cleared. There are also understood to be other confidential financial guarantees between the three parties involved in the United deal’.
  3. They’re not buying Inter outright, this looks more the equivalent of the Chinese govt taking a minority stake in City. Very much an investment to turn over a tidy profit, though due to Serie A’s recent past and Covid I’m not sure the numbers will stack up for PIF in the end. Another none story with Bein Jacobs putting forward just about every possible angle.
  4. I copied and pasted the whole statement. Where’s the other statements that’s what I’m saying. NUFC, AS or PIF haven’t released any other official statements. That’s the whole point. Wrong good night ? Club statement Newcastle United has issued the following club statement on Thursday 19 November 2020: “The Club has previously not commented on the arbitration it is pursuing against the Premier League (‘EPL’) with respect to its conduct relating to the proposed takeover because of the confidentiality clause in the EPL's rules. "However, the Club is aware of public reports which state that, on 17 November, the EPL referred to legal proceedings with the Club (e.g. social media posts referring to the “Club’s own legal case”) in a letter to Newcastle supporters. "The source of some of the reporting is said to be the EPL. It appears, therefore, that the EPL has leaked the contents of their letter to some of those commenting in the public domain. "The Club understands that these will be matters of great concern to its fans and therefore considers that, in light of the information disclosed by the EPL, it has no choice but to respond and update its fans in response to this coverage. "The Club makes no comment on the substance of the arbitration, but it can confirm that it has issued arbitration proceedings against the EPL. "It is unclear when those proceedings will be resolved, given the approach of the EPL and its lawyers, Bird & Bird. Nevertheless, the Club will continue to use its best efforts to press for a fair, full and timely hearing of its claim.”
  5. I’m still with you on the optimism stakes, though I’m now of the view that it may be months rather than weeks away. My main concern is avoiding relegation, as I think this is the key to the timing of any action. Yeah relegation undoubtedly has become the biggest threat, let’s hope we can pull something out of the bag Sunday. Well, no The multiple other hurdles which have not yet been overcome still remain the biggest threat. No deal can happen until many other things are resolved, none of which have moved anywhere since PIF pulled out. Relegation is immaterial when there is no deal in place. We could qualify for the Champions League this season and it still wouldn’t make a difference. Well, yes The deal is agreed and in place, hence Ashley currently spending a fortune on legal fees. If survival is secured and PL approve deal we have our takeover. You talk about multiple hurdles however in reality once Bein is reinstated and the cases are settled, it is very much open to debate whether separation will still be fought over. “Once Bein is reinstated and the cases are settled”, you’re talking like it’s the matter of a 10 minute phone call. We’re talking about KSA and Qatar who have been embroiled in dispute for many years. Diplomatic relations have started to turn around but the conversations that need to happen have not even began. It’s not as simple as switching some television boxes on. You’re speculating about complex tit for tat legal cases which aren’t that simple. We’re not far from the equivalent of North and South Korea settling all disputes and becoming best mates. This doesn’t happen overnight, it could take years. As Jacobs has said today, patience will eventually run thin (if they’re not already). Optimism is fine, but blind faith with no evidence to support the optimism is pointless. Regarding the agreed deal (which isn’t an agreed deal as has been widely reported, it’s off)... If a deal was even remotely close, why is Bruce allowed to continue on to relegation which would almost certainly destroy the deal? Nothing that has been reported makes this deal seem remotely close. Don’t bite Whitley or he’ll be here for ever...stick him on Ignore Agreed, think I’ll bite my tongue for once and head off to bed.

  8. Correction the hearing hasn’t but proceedings have.
  9. Apart from a dramatic headline from a shit stirring cunt, absolutely nothing has changed today. The arbitration is continuing no one has disputed that. We all know Ashley will be problematic to negotiate with if we go down, and we can all speculate whether he will accept a lower price or not. So to clarify amongst all this hysteria, yesterday we still required approval and survival for deal to definitely go through. Today we still require approval and survival for the deal to definitely go through. Think I’ll return to my zen like positive state.
  10. Not according to De Marco’s interview with Kieran McGuire, he advises against arbitration as even if case is strong there’s no guarantees.
  11. Same, this is the only thing keeping me interested otherwise I’d be happy for it to burn.
  12. So interesting In the summer he’ll state he never said which March. You can mock but time will tell my friend. I'm sure you can appreciate the cynicism though. We defeinitely heard from somehere that February was going to be an important month (or words to that affect). Certainly can it’s frustrating but I’m sure as long as we get the right result, we’ll all agree it’ll be worth the wait.
  13. So interesting In the summer he’ll state he never said which March. You can mock but time will tell my friend. Are you Keith. I think we’ve been here before

  15. Interesting take from Keith here re legal action going past March.
  16. Fulham look toothless and have some hard fixtures coming up. Still convinced we stay up but time will tell. They look better than us. We’re also toothless by the way. We won’t be when Wilson comes back providing he stays fit. We need good news on the injury front tomorrow though, if ASM and Almiron’s season are over I’ll be thinking differently.

  18. Confirmation that arbitration hearing hasn’t began yet, still a strong possibility De Marco negotiates a settlement.
  19. Yeah the 1 nil down, 4 1 up game down the road will always live with me. Took about a week for my shins to recover.
  20. Dreadful news, who could forget the Roeder shuffle. RIP.
  21. That reads like he doesnt have a lot of confidence in it going through if it does go to arbitration. I think he’s talking generally and like he says no matter how good your case, there’s always an element of risk with judges. Let’s hope the delay is due to positive ongoing discussions.
  22. Get it done Nick. As I've said before though my only fear is relegation. Fingers crossed 3 points tonight ?
