  1. Sounds like this could run for a bit, especially if West Ham come knocking with the Rice money burning a hole. If Leicester know West Ham are interested they’ll play hard ball and it might take 35 million to get this done, in which case it comes down to how badly we want him.
  2. The town centre, I struggle to call it a city is on par with somewhere like Luton a fucking shit hole. You’ll see more seagulls feasting on left over rubbish than people. As for the coastline, Seaburn has a few shipping containers now, Morrisons and a shitty old hotel on the front. Compared to the North Tyneside coastline it’s fucking shit. As for Newcastle declining where does the imbecile get that idea from, there’s millions going into the City Centre and the quayside is due a major overhaul that will make it one of the best waterfronts in Europe when completed.
  3. The takeover was murky as fuck on all sides, but the current board haven’t put a foot out of line since they got the keys. The PL weren’t playing by the book so it’s hard to blame the Saudi’s for playing their hand in negotiations.
  4. Ours would have been like that also if the PL had their way. Can’t knock our current owners playing everything by the book, despite the obstacles being created by the current elite.
  5. I’ve still got high hopes for Gordon due to his age and there’s definitely something there. I just find Barnes a tad disappointing though on the back of that transfer, and not sure if Howe has a blind spot when it comes to wanting homegrown players But everything he’s touched has turned to gold so far, long may that continue and hope he weaves his magic with Barnes.
  6. Losing to South Shields. On the plus sign they’ve probably slapped a few Shields Mags.
  7. I think he’s speedy in transition and can hit a ball, but stats from last season in terms of progressive passing were shit, though granted in a poor team. Be good to see what his assists, progressive passing stats were like in season Leicester won cup etc, just to see if last season was a one off.
  8. I back the club whatever they want to do, they’ve barely put a foot wrong in the transfer market. However, I can see why some are not overly thrilled with this move, the goal scoring side to Barnes is clearly a big upside, but everyone was expecting a player who could unlock the door. The below is a comparison with Lindstrom from Frankfurt and undoubtedly Barnes creative ability is rightly called into question, if that’s what he’s been brought in to do, they don’t scream CL elite player let’s just say that. ‘Lindstrom is closely ranked to the Englishman in a number of metrics including: goals per shot (0.16 vs 0.13), shot-creating actions per 90 (2.94 vs 3.30), and % of shots on target (42.2 vs 43.4). Furthermore, although Barnes is an impressive goalscorer, he still has much to improve on regarding build-up play, residing within the lowest 23% in Europe’s top five leagues among his positional peers for passes attempted per 90, pass completion, and progressive passes per 90’.
  9. Never underestimate the impact a quality full back can have on a team. The 2 most stand out examples in our recent history are John Beresford and Trippier, completely transformed the team. Now if you added one of the Milan left backs to our team, I think we’d have a completely new dimension to our play next season.
  10. I actually agree with this think there we’re signs towards end of the season that teams were targeting Burn. If we want to play a high line against top teams you also need pace, think back to Liverpool at home and thought Rashford roasted us a few times at Wembley to name just 2 occasions.
  11. I think Barnes is the wide forward for the summer and Maxi stays put. Howe will want a joker in the pack and some unpredictability off the bench at least.
  12. The lad from Sporting Lisbon would probably be about 40 million.
  13. A lot will depend on him doing that if you have a front 3 of Gordon/Almiron, Isak and Barnes. Gordon shows some signs of getting his head up, but Barnes and Almiron are very head down type of players for me.
  14. If he’s a straight replacement for St Max it’s to be hoped they have somebody with a bit of X factor lined up for the right side. He doesn’t solve the problem of breaking down a stubborn defence at home, and we lose a lot of unpredictability if St Max leaves. We’ll control games and keep possession with Tonali and Bruno, just not sure where the creative spark, killer pass is coming from to break down the top teams.
  15. No it’s a Liverpool based journalist who writes for the Echo Dave Powell. They’re fucking rattled to fuck simple as. Business of Football Writer at the Liverpool Echo covering off-field matters at both Liverpool and Everton, as well as general football finance stories on Merseyside. Former sports editor any Chester FC reporter at the Chester Chronicle. Email
  16. Another day and another article in the Liverpool Echo about us, absolutely obsessed the scouse cunts. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-just-sent-25m-warning-27270249
  17. Forget which journalist rubbished Diaby links due to Howe not rating him, sure it wasn’t the unreliable Edwards either. This lad should be the number 1 target without question for the right side. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HmrSBnxzYg
  18. Be lucky to get away with a death stare if he bumps into that lot, worst case he’ll get a good slap like most mags get.
  19. Barnes stats look impressive but still strange to be spending 40 on a wide left player, especially after signing Gordon in January. After being linked with an intelligent footballer with great vision, to go down the route of a head down merchant wouldn’t solve the problem of breaking down stubborn defences. Hoping it’s a smokescreen and we’ve got someone else lined up.
  20. The Castore deal which by the way is rumoured to be for 6 years, so wouldn’t surprise me if club was looking to haul them over coals for breach of contract etc. This interview was at the outset of deal and confirms though the 5 milllion per year is small, the deal is heavily incentivised. Therefore, the club must be going beserk if they’re not able to meet demand. Interview from Athletic - First, financially, there’s a significant investment going in, which is clearly important,” Beahon says. Without going into “commercially sensitive” specifics, he explains how Castore has paid Newcastle a “significant rights fee”, will provide kit for all levels of the club (male, female and academy), and royalties and bonuses. There is no “minimum guarantee” of a buyback of merchandise for the club, as is commonplace. Instead, Castore is operating both the official store and the website on Newcastle’s behalf. The club is “heavily incentivised” to help increase sales. This is different to the “club-manufacturer model” agreed with Wolves, where China is the plus point for Castore. With Newcastle, it is their domestic and global support base. “The club shop is still a Newcastle store, it just happens to be operated by Castore,” Beahon says, again stating profits will be shared with the club. Newcastle’s revenue share will increase once “certain targets (unit sales) are met”.
  21. Only surprise is he didn’t mention McTominay, probably saving that for later in the week.
  22. Rudy reckons we’re moving concretely for the player, let’s blow these scouse cunts out the water. Apparently Tobido and Thuram were left out of a Nice promo yesterday, might be something might be nothing, but wouldn’t be surprised if it was Tobido we end up with.
  23. He looks an intelligent footballer only concern I’d have is whether he’s cut out to play wide right in the PL. He doesn’t seem the quickest and might be more suited to a floating 10 role, he’s certainly not going to replace Salah’s goal tally for them. I suspect he’s going to be in their midfield 3, breaking from midfield playing nice slide rule passes and the odd screamer from outside the box. His 6 goal Bundesliga tally doesn’t suggest he’s prolific.
  24. The Liverpool Echo don’t seem able to write an article without referencing us at the moment. Heady days, would love Thuram to sign for us just to send the cunts into meltdown.
