No irony intended but we can't fucking win. We're either pilloried for wanting Champions' League nights again and similar 'ideas above our station' or slated for being grateful for not flirting with relegation and, heaven forbid, losing a cup final.

Next up - Keegan was too nice, and Dalglish wasn't nice enough.

They could get back up to the PL, don't really mind or care.

To be fair, that final was their most important match of the season.

Didn't know Dickie Davies had gone as well. Some very early memories of World of Sport on a Saturday morning.

All the top end teams seem to be dropping points at the moment.

We can delete all these posts. No-one's awake now anyway.

I think what's arguable is whether it really matters, re. that it's a Premier League record. No-one is anywhere near the real top flight record holders!

In the Premier League he has 260 goals. That's a fact, you can't say he has any more than that because he scored some 'just before' the Premier League was formed.

Esp. those that treat women poorly. He was at Man Utd after all

The squad isn't big enough (esp. in terms of quality) not to tail off. Howe's great but he's not a miracle worker and keeping up with the resources of Man City etc. isn't realistic. It's amazing to have achieved what we have so far.
