Managers spitting, there's just no need. Wonder if they walk round the town with their wives, spitting as they go. Don't understand it at all and seems to have just started in the last few seasons.
-
Definitely a useful squad player, we wouldn't have gone 1-0 up against the run of play if it had not been for him and his pace.
-
Good performance today. Underrated by many. Solid squad player.
-
I now, I know, early days, but he didn't look very athletic to me, which is bit worrying? (Ducks for cover.)
-
0-2. Everton will be too strong in attack for us. We're are going down, too many key positions still need a serious upgrade to stay up (striker, centre midfield and centre back) and now it's too late. Ashley + Bruced, no new manager bounce and an average transfer window. Championship winners next year, no doubt, but a year wasted. Just how I see it and I hope I am completely wrong.
-
Sorry if this has already been asked/answered, but when does the revised squad have to be submitted to the premier league? Ta.
-
And I'm sure there's many a lower league player that has spend hours trying to perfect their craft, but they are still in the lower leagues. Natural ability and mindset/attitude can go together. Guess we'll just beg to differ on our opinions.
-
You can't give someone natural ability, but you can improve fitness and mentality.
-
My main gripe with St Maximin is his apparent lack of fitness and the fact that he looks injured every time he gets up from being tackled. Contrast that with Declan Rice, for example, who bounces straight up and still looks like he could run through brick walls after playing flat out for 90 mins. If St M had that sort of fitness and mentality, he could be one of the best.
-
Almost true though! Unfortunately, he's nowhere near good enough for the premier league or championship.
-
Maddison spitting during the Last Post. FFS.
-
Benitez is bottom of my list, it would really take the gloss off the takeover if he came back. Wasn't keen on him when he was here and to turn his back on the fans that did love him and pleaded with him to stay for China/money, enough said.
-
Soon, hopefully, he will no longer be the big fish in a little pool, so he now needs to decide how much he wants to play for a top team and win things. He's capable, but he needs to toughen up mentally and play at 100% otherwise the team will overtake him and he will look back wondering what might have been.
-
Bang average at best. Can't control a football, can't pass a football and panics under pressure slicing the ball anywhere.
-
I was in until I noticed "there".
-
Decent interview, both questions and answers. Certainly reflects how I feel. Bruce out, Ashley out and 3 points tonight please.
-
A home victory and plenty of abuse directed at Bruce. Perfect.
-
At least he does fly around, unlike both Hayden and Shelvey. Hayden is going backwards, both in effectiveness and work rate. Shelvey is so slow he's always looked like he's going backwards. Edit. That said, I wouldn't want Choudry.
-
Giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe covid had had some effect on his stamina/fitness levels? Since he has been ill (maybe before), his head and work rate drop the moment we go behind. And when he gets fouled, no matter how "lightly" he takes an eternity to get up and he always looks like he's about to go off injured. Contrast that with Declan Rice who runs through walls for 90 mins. ASM is my favourite player, unreal natural talent, but I will like him a lot more once he is able to put in a full 90 min shift, he bounces back up from being fouled and he looks 100% committed for a full game. If he can't/won't do that, then he will never realise his full potential and he will always be a "luxury" player who could have been so much more. Early days I know and there is plenty of time for him to improve mentally and physically, but he certainly needs to.

I really wish I could hide a thread from view. Don't like Benitez, don't like Everton and I'm sick of seeing this thread continually bumped to the top of the page (I know by writing this I've just bumped it again).,

If only we had a decent manager. Best squad for years and a clueless manager. Doesn't have a plan A never mind a plan B. Crying shame.
-
Unfortunately not, otherwise I'd be trousering a nice wedge for getting him 6 years.
-
While six years is lengthy he fully deserves a new contract. He is a decent played with really good pace, which is definitely lacking in the side. He will be an excellent squad player and he would command a decent fee if were to cash in. No brainer for me.
