You look at the team right now and only a striker is what sticks out as something we desperately need. Obviously other areas need to be improved if we want to move up the table (a top quality centre half and a defensive midfielder), but relying on Wilson and Wood next year can’t happen

I’d love to see him come here and take a central position. Hopefully he doesn’t sign a new contract over the next year and we can then start to tempt him to the project

That’s exactly the type of signing we should be going all out for, but there’s no way they sell him to us

I was in the stadium watching him closely and it’s clear that the guy is class - he’s going to be a legend at this club

I was always thought Burnley would get out of this and have been saying for months it’s unfair to judge them when they have a huge number of games in hand. In my opinion, Brentford and Leeds are more likely to go down than them so we just have to finish above one of these two. Leeds are in serious trouble because they are so open, only seem to play one way and don’t know how to grind out a result. But they have had some tough games come in quick succession so they could turn this around. The same could be said with Brentford regarding the tough set of games, but they play us, Norwich and Burnley in the next 3 and that will tell us a lot about them and where they will finish. I’ll be in the home end on Saturday with two Brentford supporting mates and I’m hoping that we can find a way to win so I can sit there smugly

Almiron used to make a lot runs in behind the defence quite frequently and I think he still could be effective if we actually look to set up in that way. I’d like to see Bruno play and we look to distribute the ball along the ground into space behind

The guy has come so far under Howe that we are comparing his style of play to Vieira - amazing stuff - I can’t get enough of it

He’s been playing well recently and fair play to the guy for improving, but there is no logic in extending a contract that doesn’t expire until 2023

I think Villa just wanted to send him out on loan so he could play every week to showcase his talent and push up his fee. I’d like to think we could get him for a reasonable fee, but I’m pretty sure they will use his performances and our wealth to justify asking for around the £20m mark

It would be great to get to 26 points (even better with 28 points) before the March run of two games a week. If we have a few negative results now, we could find ourselves under a lot more pressure going into that run of fixtures

Really need the results in midweek to go our way so that we can head into the game with that nice cushion we currently have

I also thought he wasn’t that bad, he gets up the pitch well and always tires to make himself an option going forward. He just makes seem really daft defensive decisions from time to time and they cost you goals, that’s why he is third choice I guess

I was for him coming in because I thought the team needed a kick up the arse and he could have commanded that quickly
