  1. There’s just no way Shelvey gets dropped for Bruno, it just won’t happen. Eddie rates him and also loves Joelinton (as much as I do right now). If we want to get him in the side then it’s either Willock on the bench or a switch up with Joelinton moving to the right
  2. Just go to Monaco and buy the three youngsters they have. The two CBs Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile and then the DMF Aurelien Tchouameni - job done
  3. I would even go as far to say competing for the top 4. Aside from the top 3, the league is fairly open and we could easily go on a run like West Ham with 3 or 4 top players added in the summer
  4. Don’t think you can move Willock to the right as its a more disciplined role to cover. Joelinton maybe would be better suited there, but that would be harsh on Fraser (although I didn’t think he played well the other night) and also takes away Joelinton from the middle. I suspect it will be the same team other than either Dummett or Burn on the left
  5. If Shelvey was quicker I wouldn’t be so worried about playing him against Villa. But they have a lot pace in the front end of the pitch and it’s going make him look like he’s running backwards
  6. With better players around him and continued hard work to improve, he can be world class. There’s very few players in world football that can do what this guy does with the ball at speed and we should be building the team around his talent
  7. Yeah it was one of those tackles that you see he was fully committed to making regardless of being anywhere near the ball
  8. If we can get Bruno in for Shelvey on Sunday then that sounds great to me, but I don’t see it happening
  9. I want Bruno with Willock and Joelinton to work, but I’m not 100% certain that is does. Based on last night’s six minutes, Bruno looks as though he’s better suited to being the aggressor, hunting the ball down in a similar way to Joelinton. Hopefully in the summer we can get a proper defensive midfielder to sit in and let him do the work box-to-box

    Joelinton

Agree with everything @TRon says, it’s ridiculous how much this guy gets through and for me, he’s one of the first names on the team sheet. Plus, he’s got that bit of bite in his attitude that gets me on side. The way he called out the referee and Alli after that stupid tackle is always great to see
  11. Everton are just as shit as we are it seems
  12. Feels like the perfect game for our £40m Brazilian
  13. Willock loves to get the ball stuck under his feet doesn’t he - but I think he has got amongst it at least
  14. This game is crying out for Wilson’s pace and energy up top as a player like Wood is so easy to defend for this Everton back line
  15. I’m just thinking that it is an easy way out with what it is a difficult team selection choice for Eddie between Lascelles, Schar and Burn competing for two places (when Lascelles is captain and Schar having played so well against Leeds). I can see Eddie keeping it the same and then bringing on Burn to help us see out the win
  16. I think we will see that line up with the exception of the centre defensive pairing. I’m sure Howe mentioned that Burn has a toe infection so that probably means that it’s Lascelles and Schar that stay together with Burn on the bench
  17. Did not know that we had his brother - is he any good?
  18. If we survive, I think the summer window is a completely different ball game for us. We won’t have the hanging threat of relegation over us and this will enable us to be more positive in the types of players we try to attract. I think we would have a chance at someone like Raphinha or Ward Prowse as they haven’t really been courted by the so called bigger clubs like say a Rice has been. Also, the problem with Rice (who will probably end up at Chelsea or Man Utd) is that it will take £100m to get him and we could easily find someone just as good for half of that or even for free (a Kessie or Kamara)
  19. I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing though. He’s great at winning the ball back for the team and I’m pretty such I read that the stats since moving to midfield put him number one in the league at doing that. He needs someone behind him that can sit back and have the athleticism to pick up the pieces when he finds himself out of position - Shelvey can’t do that and that’s our main problem which hopefully Bruno can help to solve
  20. Everyone seems to have Schar in the back two, but Lascelles almost certainly starts. I think we are more likely to see Burn on the bench and Schar and Lascelles to continue
