Bruce was an awful manager - not likeable as a person and why people are arguing about his time here is really strange. Before he came here, his managerial record reeked of relegation man or championship man. His time at NUFC continued in the same vein, the football was awful, the way he talked and handled himself was appalling, and it was very clear in his final season, he was after the payoff and let the players fitness levels drop to an all time low. Is Howe any better. For me yes, the results are on a par but everything else he does is way way above what Bruce did. Bruce was given time and Howe should be also. Let see where we are at the end of the season before any real comparison can be made. Bruce was really awful and his attitude from day 1, plus the fact the media tried to tell us differently to what our own eyes were seeing, make him one of the worst managers NUFC has ever had, IMHO

Obviously as NUFC fans, we want the same thing, team to be proud of and hopefully a successful one as well. Reading the comments over the past few weeks, I thing the overriding thing that NUFC fans have had for the past 14 year is Fear and we still have that today. Let me explain: During the Ashley years, NUFC fans had the 'fear' that he would never sell and we would be stuck with him, and drift into obsucurity. During the last two years when the Saudi takeover was up in the air, NUFC fans had the 'fear' that the takeover would never be approved. Now, with the takeover happening, NUFC fans have the 'fear' of relegation as they think in the back of their mind that PIF will get frustrated and walk away. The media knows the 'fear' of the fans and are playing on it, Inter rumours, negative slant on anything consortium does etc. Its that fear which is driving most of the fans discussion about, need to have this in place, need to be quicker at transfers etc. We are scared that PIF will not follow through with their plans due to this short term blip (relegation). To PIF however if they do have a 10 year plan for NUFC, then whilst relegation is a set back, that's all it is. If they are intelligent people, and Im sure they are, then they would have accounted for the real possibility of relegation, in their ten year plan anyway. What Im trying to say is whilst now for fans this is a nightmare, for PIF and the consortium, it doesn't matter so much as long as it doesn't torpedo the 10 year plan (and it shouldn't or its not a robust plan anyway). Keep the faith and try to step back if you feel the 'fear' is becoming too much! HWTL

As each week goes by, it gets harder to see us escaping relegation but its so tight at the bottom, anything could happen and we still have a chance. Howe has my full support - I have reservations but I honestly think, the players need to step up here. If we get in 2 CB and 2 CMs then he has been given the tools to succeed and the emphasis will be on him to prove he has what it takes. Some suggesting ditching Howe for Rafa, to me that is wanting change for change sake. I personally wouldn't go anywhere near Rafa, he has had his time, never go back!

NUFC fans are almost getting to Makems levels of always want to go back instead of forward. Rafa this , Rafa that, Mitro this, Mitro that. They've had their time - we need to move on. Remember for what they did when here but dont confuse that with painting a rosy picture andfantasising about them returning.

nah, new day, new hope. Had my say last night on it - up to Owners now to sit and shit or get off the pot and accept relegation! Fans have done all they can.

They've made mistakes, and not getting a European top manager (even if it cost X millions a year) in from the off has hindered them somewhat. I like Howe but this group of players doesn't need a manager who is nice with them (see Bruce) they need someone to come in and kick arse! Anyway, it is, what it is. I personally think we are down but whilst its not a mathematical certainty I will always have that hope. Some one mentioned, we are difficult to beat but not at beating ourselves! Thats where I will leave this for tonight. Hopefully this time next week the team will have been very diffrent and we are celebrating a win..........I Hope!

I worry about relegation big time. If we get relegated NUFC will have to a) Ship out current team and get new ones in to get us out of the Championship b) If we do get back up at 1st time of asking, then we will have then buy a whole new set of players so we stay in the PL. That is a 2 year delay and £XM wasted. Also in the meantime the PL teams I sure will introduce other things to hinder us if we do come back up. Typical Newcastle - fall into a bucket of tits and come out sucking our thumb!

Schar, Lascelles, Shelvey, Longstaff - that is the centre spine of our 1st team: The pace, passing and pressing ability and football intelligence in that centre spine is shocking to be honest. All need replacing next week with new signings for us to have any chance.

PIF need to decide what they are going to do. Are they: a) going to go all out for staying in premiership? If so then you will have to just pay the inflated prices and get Botman/Carlos and a CM in by Tuesday. b) Accept relegation and stop chasing champions league class players. We'll find out at Leeds as if Shar and Lascelles, shelvey and shortstaff play then it looks like b) was the decision.

What annoys me the most is this squad seem intent on bringing the whole club down to their shit level. 1st transfer window in 14 years where we are trying to bring in better players, and this fucking bunch of losers lose to Cambridge and then can't beat a Watford side that had lost 5 on the bounce. So now any potential signings will look at this club and think position is a lost cause. I go to the games to support NUFC and will continue to do so, but when you wankers come on at the end and clap the fans, you won't get any encouragement back from me - you can all leave and the sooner the better! (Trippier and Wood excluded as new players)

So, we have bought Wood - who is a target man and thrives on crosses. If you are going to play Wood then you need wingers that will whip the ball in. ASM is never ever going to whip the ball in so playing him on the wing basically mean you have reduce Wood opportunities by 50%. If playing Wood I would have ASM playing just behind, in a 10 role. Wood can knock down to ASM and ASM can then drive at the defenders!

ASM so doesn't want to be a right winger. How many times today did he have a change to run ahead but instead cut inside of the man with the ball. Great talent but he is not a winger and he doesn't want to be a winger, so dont play him as a winger!

This is how bleak it is - Eddie Howe has achieved 1 win since he arrived. Dean Smith who went to Norwich.....fucking Norwich, has achieved 3 wins since going there! I said after the Cambridge game that they have burnt the loyalty of the fans. We need to clean sweep the lot. Howe has been dealt a shit hand but I have to say, he gets a 1 out of 10 at the moment. Only game where I thought he was starting to get his ideas across was Brentford. Man U was maybe, other than that, I have to say his fabled style of football just hasnt appeared!

The crowd is premiership quality, the team unfortunately is championship quality. We are down as too many are not good enough, dont believe enough and playing in front of that crowd seems to be a burden. Howe I am really disappointed in. Great at talking the talk but results have been dire!

I so want Howe to succeed and with Dummet on the pitch we looked so much better....but I dont really see a style of play yet. Lascelles is done for me, he cant defend and he cant pass. We so need a top defensive midfielder, we concede so much terrority its untrue. Howe, I hope comes good but I think we are down and I wonder if they will stick with him?
