It’s on data collected over a number of years.

I did study psychology at uni you know.

    Congrats.

I’ve not seen the data, but having worked with numerous doctors and surgeons I’m not sure I’ve ever come across any psychopaths, never mind a high proportion in comparison to other professions.

Will have a look if I can find anything quantitive behind it, because it’s an interesting thought process.

Paul Robinson talking utter wank about Bruce on SSN - slating our fans for the "horrid abuse" and saying that Bruce is a born winner as his player record and managerial record prove it - FERK OFF!

I thought we were done with this shit FFS!

A born winner without a single honour to his name as a manager.

Even his promotions from the Championship were a result of finishing 2nd or playoffs.

Hasn’t won a single thing, unless you count his solitary PL Manager of the Month award.

Yeah, professions such Dr’s, surgeons, high level bankers, and even air traffic controllers all have a disproportionately high percentage of psychopaths within the profession.

It’s worth remembering though that only a small percentage of psychopaths are homicidal.

What are you basing that on? Or is it an assumption?

They did this with Pardew as well. Oh those deluded ungrateful Geordie’s don’t know what they’re talking about. They’ll soon realise his many, many faults

My absolute favourite posts I saw on that thread were one poster saying “Since he left Birmingham, they’ve never recovered” another one chirped in with “Yep, same with Sunderland” and they never realised there’s a common denominator, Bruce.

They were actually trying to use it as a positive, that they’ve struggled after losing him because he was so good for them

Birmingham, Sunderland, Hull, Wigan - all clubs managed by Bruce and failed to recover since. The only two who have are Villa and (hopefully) us, after walking into huge pots of money.

He’s called a promotion specialist, when was the last time he got any club promoted?

The media like to tell you it’s four promotions, but that’s actually only with two clubs. They forget to mention the bit where he gets relegated in between

Oh, and to answer your question, 2016. Since then he ruined the most expensively assembled Aston Villa side in the Championship (with £100m Grealish) and kept them 14th.

    This will likely come across

a bit controversial/mental, but I actually think Ritchie can play a role for us this season. If we’re 2-0 up with say 20 minutes to play, he’d be a good wide midfielder to just help us retain possession and bring the game to stalemate. He’s got good feet in tight spots and with Bruno, Trippier, Burn and Targett in the team we would be much better retaining possession for the sake of it against some teams.

I appreciate this is a pretty niche use and it’s a big if that we’ve got a lead to protect but I can see a little value in Ritchie for that reason.

I’ve spotted a flaw in your logic.

  7. They don’t play until Sheff Utd on the 9th, the players have got six days (two training days) to get used to his methods.

Didn’t realise they are where they are, highly likely they’ll end up outside the playoffs now

Can’t wait to watch it all unfold.

    - How many minutes into his first press conference will he mention Rafa?

    - He’ll be blaming the previous manager’s defensive football.

    - Players in his first match saying “I don’t know what to do” as Sheff Utd hoy in the third goal.

    - An injury crisis awaits.

    - A mole to appear in the club to create tensions with the local media.

    - Alex wheeled out to defend him on TalkSport.

    - Telling them he can’t be judged after two seasons as he can’t “turn it around overnight”.

    - Mr Sheen sales will rise in Birmingham ready to dust themselves down.

    - Sleeves being rolled up everywhere.

    :fwap:

  8. Have criticised Howe expecting him to favour Clark over Fernandez but very pleased to see he’s dropped Clark from the squad rather than him.

I do question the decision to omit Lewis for Ritchie though. Think it’s really harsh and I’m disappointed Lewis is seemingly never going to get a chance after being thrown in a Bruce shit show.

  9. Going to get very boring very quickly if every crime that occurs is then somehow tenuously linked to our owners and anyone who says “that’s a bit of a load of bollocks” is then accused of sportswashing.

    Rinse and repeat infinitely.

You can make a point about the terrible acts carried out by KSA without comparing it to anything else.

As I’ve repeated several times, people shouldn’t be linking Greenwood’s actions with anything or anyone, that’s disrespectful to the victim and detracts away from what a little scumbag he is.

I don’t agree with the actions of KSA and don’t particularly think I’d ever be drawn to justifying or defending them. The people who would probably do so haven’t been “sportswashed”, they’ve always been thick but haven’t had any reason to air their uneducated views before.

They'll never get over the nostalgia thing in the same way we haven't.  There have been people here seriously wanting Keegan back as a manager even though he was 10 years out of date 10 years ago.

Difference is he was good for us, while Baaaaalllly was a bang average player at their best and essentially the pre-cursor of 'Catts for me like'.

Keegan was a unanimous success for us though. Keane took charge of them for 18 months and was booed off in his final few matches.

He has also only had one other job, which was a complete failure.

The nostalgia comparisons aren’t similar at all. It’d be the equivalent of us screaming for Chris Hughton back every five minutes.

I’m also fairly sure nobody seriously thinks Keegan would be a good fit for manager right now. Understand most people would only have him back in some sort of Ambassador role.

Kinnear was a joke, Keane will have respect tge moment he walks in from both the players and fans. With Defoe coming in as well they could easy ride promotion on the buzz of both men coming in. That's all it takes down there. It could be a game changer for them, or it could all come apart. An interesting watch either way for the neutral.

They can respect him all they like but he’s hardly Mr Motivator is he?

The days of just shouting at footballers and telling them to run faster, work harder or that they’re shit are long gone.

  12. 2 minutes ago, Ketsbaia said:

I reckon he'd get them up, like. Hope they look elsewhere.

    Based on what?

He’s not been a manager for 11 years, has only had two previous jobs and failed miserably at his most recent one.

His only success a solitary promotion with the mackems from the Championship 14 years ago, but then hounded out six months later.

Makes less sense than when we appointed Kinnear, he had only been out of work for four years.

  13. I like how they completely idolise people for very little reason but also re-write history as they go.

    https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2008/dec/04/sunderland-roy-keane

“Sunderland sit 18th in the Premier League, having lost five of their last six games. Keane, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season, was booed after their most recent match, a 4-1 defeat to Bolton on Saturday, and admitted afterwards that he had doubts as to whether he should be in the job.”

A bloke who took charge of them for 18 months being a hero because he might shout at people. A bit like Cattermole, absolutely dogshit but they love him because of a perceived, but misplaced, tough man attitude.

All of this perfectly fits for a team of cloggers in the lower leagues though, maybe they’re not in the wrong league after all.

I'm sure that if I search for "Adam AND Johnson" on here there'll be absolutely no insinuation or banter about how what he did has any connection with or is any reflection on the Mackems from you and others.

Or Man City's owners and Man City fans.

Don't take it personally, I think we're all full of shit. I'm just wondering if/when more will come to the same realisation or not.

Not in any way comparable whatsoever.

Johnson admitted to the club he had kissed an underage girl and they persisted to play him, whilst pretending he was innocent. Of course people are able to form judgements about the club after that.

That’s a totally different scenario to this.

The Greenwood situation has absolutely nothing to do with NUFC. There is no need to make comparisons between his evil actions and a football club with no link whatsoever.

What it does is this. It detracts away from the real situation of a young woman who has been horrifically abused and instead we sit discussing something totally irrelevant.

  15. Just now, Rafalove said:

Wouldn’t make it right. If anyone is offended here I don’t think it should be  on behalf of NUFC. It should be on behalf of the lass. But even then I would say “the bite” of the tweet was mainly aimed at Greenwood and our owners. Both are worthy targets for criticism, mockery or insult.

Why would anyone link such a terrible crime to anything else?

It doesn’t need to be compared to x, y or z, doesn’t need jokes, doesn’t need people to speculate, doesn’t need people to justify the abhorrent crimes etc. etc.

People are just desperate for clicks and interactions, he’s tried something and it’s backfired terribly.
