  1. That's why this deal opens up the opportunity. Every other deal was an end of contract or a deal that made sense due to the player / high wages. This is the first one I'm aware of that breaks this model and includes a ridiculous transfer fee. And I'm sure a lot of players will have their heads turned when they see the wages on offer.
  2. If true... Really think this a game changer for us and the league. It is way over budget and once complete there will be nothing anyone can say if Maxi or Miggy went for an inflated 80 to 100 million bid. Or even lesser players for 10 20 million... Honestly feel they have found the cheat code
  3. Nobody knows anything.. not then, now or until we actually make bids. We might be Interested but still can't see 'a club insider' telling everyone our every move and thought
  4. I thought we were bidding 70 mil on a keeper now... can Froggy not keep his made up links off our made up link page!
  5. Edwards... Likes to break news early irrespective of what implications it might have on the outcome Hope... Likes to put a negative spin on anything positive and double down on anything negative. Romano... Like to twist every story to sound like he has a hot line to every boardroom or agent Ryder... Is too busy pulling together an article on the list of 5 things we don't know.. because none of us can be arsed to read the same story he has posted with five different headlines. Anyway... Even if the rumours are half true, I'm excited to know there are still hundreds of players in-between the levels of Barella and McTominay
  6. The guys name already fits Lola by the Kink's... Eddie met him in a club down the San Siro, Where you drink champagne and the fans all loved Nic-cola. Nic-cola Barella Obvs need to be drunk to get the rest of the lyrics right lol
  7. What time do the leaked fixtures come out? ... Surely someone's mates lasses brother has found a stray copy on the back of a taxi by now?
  8. No the question was about Arsenals sudden rise.. I just personally feel that as well as they played they also got the added benefit of other teams under performing.. much like the year Leicester won the league with 81 points. or put it another way similar to Spurs in the Leicester season..I don't think they will get a better chance of winning it.
  9. Because Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U all under achieved last year? I mean we benefitted as well but Arsenal might not have been the story if Liverpool got their normal 90+ points second place
  10. Maybe Shola was only able to work with what he had... I mean two years ago this kid would be our main summer signing and Shola would be looking to loans untested kids to non league or division 2 teams.
  11. Wish he had shared it at the time and we could have called them out as individuals! I still remember to this day an elder relative calling Andy Cole and it hitting home how it always hides just under the surface. Obviously they can hide behind a keyboard nowadays but I'm sure if it's a Newcastle 'fan' it wouldn't take so long to find out someone who knows who it was
  12. Kane's playing Solitaire by himself in the corner... trying to beat Shearers record time.
  13. if true you have to admire the club for proactively finding a player to take the heat off Gordon ? McTominay was way to obvious a choice so so they had to find someone that would split the fans between religious beliefs, human rights and freedom of speech (oh and those who don't give a toss and just want everything to be black and white)
  14. I think people forget that other teams are in Europe as well.. Brighton and villa will probably have more games to fit in as well. You can argue it's an easier game but its injuries, Thursday games and fatigue that all starts to add up
  15. 3/4 buys Plus the Saudia loans after Christmas... When all the superstars are homesick lol
  16. 65 million package... We must be bidding 30 mil + Ryan Frazer. Well if they are going to quote silly figures I might as well!
  17. I think Liverpool had this sorted a long time ago that nobody else had a look in ... A bit like the young lad from Fulham the year before. Both benefitting from lower transfer release clauses then their true market value (you wonder if the agent tipped them off) and then I guess Liverpool / Klopp do still have a massive pull for a lot of players.
  18. Like the Total Football flexibility of Holland at their peak... I'm in!
  19. Still think Craig is bitter from being banned after his bust up with Bruce. I'm guessing that's all resolved but he is definitely on the glass half empty when reporting on Newcastle
  20. My thoughts are We have spent the previous 15 years trying to find excuses not to spend money Now we have people in charge who are looking to develop and build from the ground up.. and will spend every penny available to get us there. Signing Dan Ashworth was always to develop and identify emerging talent at the best cost... Brighton use it to flip players and build their cost base, Chelsea, man city did it so they could sell youngsters to fund the ffp of the first team. Our early success has pushed us ahead of the plan and now we seem stuck between the two camps... Do we buy talent for the future and stick to the plan or focus on the first team for next year's champions league campaign. The latter might only be six games.. so maybe we are hedging our bets and going for the long term strategy.
  21. Just wait to agents Trippier and Wilson are at the England Camp.... Maddison and Rice will be signing the day they get back lol
  22. How much is enough? Very rare people in any walk of life settle for what they currently have... Look at Messi who if he wanted could have stayed or signed for Barca on reduced wages and continued his legacy.
  23. Depends if you they look short or long term.. Spurs have survived of having Kane and a shed load of money from Bale back in the day. Even their stadium revenue will not allow them to challenge the likes of City, Chelsea or fingers crossed us in the future. And I'm not sure if their new manager is any different to Rodgers, Gerrard or Lennon who all had success in Scotland
  24. Does that mean our Fairs Cup win can get the credit it deserves!
  25. I'm giving everyone a couple of weeks downtime after a long season before they decide to make their moves... I mean Dubai must be full of wall to wall footballers this time of year!
