Dan Burn suits playing as a CB more I think. I looked at Brighton's last 5 games or so and he's started as a left sided centre half in their back 4 for those games. Obviously it's a plus that he's a very flexible player which is why Potter likes him so much.

This has been discussed a lot on here and I think most agree that the leaks aren't from within the club. What would Mehrdad or Stavely have to gain from leaking a story like this? Whereas the selling club or the players agent have something to gain by leaking it, could cause another club to come in with a higher bid or higher wages for the player.

I think this is likely the most accurate scenario. It does make you wonder what our board are trying to accomplish. My best guess is that they wanted the player to force a move and get him on a bargain. I guess similar to how PSG got a bargain from us on Cabaye?

I do think he hit a purple patch goals wise that he probably won't repeat. But when it comes to dribbling, receiving the ball and trying to find a forward pass, he's lightyears ahead of longstaff. His tackling is also underrated. His problem at the moment is lack of confidence/sharpness and he has been ghosting as a result of that but there is definitely a player in there.

Just playing devil's advocate, although I do agree that they haven't done everything perfectly. Maybe expecting 4/5 major signings in key areas secured early in a January transfer window is asking the world. How many clubs in history have signed 4/5 players ready to start in the first team after a January transfer window and gone on to make significant improvements in the rest of the season? With all of these major signings having been a success? And how many clubs have done that in a January transfer window they spent in the relegtion zone?

I don't think he has got much right that wasn't confirmed before by someone more reputable. I think he's got quite a lot wrong as well, pretty sure he was one of the ones who said Fonseca to us was done(that feels like a lifetime ago looking back). He seems to jump on rumours reported by others and get fans attention basically by saying it's one step closer than the rumour. Same as that Rudy galletti (chicken emoji guy) and pablo alameda (uses flag emojis and green ticks to make his tweets stand out). The trustworthy guys (from my perception) are: Hope - seems to have a line to the club Luke Edwards - seems to have a line to the club Fabrizio Romano - He's a big name because he doesn't get anything wrong. He doesn't seem to have any contacts in the club but pretty sure he has direct lines to all the agents. Hence why he was the first one to say there was no way digne would come to us. David Ornstein and the athletic guys - seem to generally be very reliable. Downie and Graves - usually a bit later to report things but what they report is usually confirmed and accurate. Dimarzio - anything he says about any players in italy will be accurate. Probably missing a few but these are the only ones I really pay attention to.

Just had a look and Diego Carlos, Nico Schlotterbeck, sven botman all play as left CBs. Badiashile hasn't acually played too many games recently but looks like he can play on either side. Gleison Bremer plays in the middle of a back 3

Carlos is right but he's played most of his career as a left CB right? Aren't all of the CBs we've been linked with more experienced playing as left CB?
