Imagine if he does this: Dubravka, Ritchie, Lascelles, Schar, Krafth, Murphy, Shelvey, Willock, Maxi, Joelinton, Wilson I don't think that's too far out of the realms of possibility considering what we've seen so far. Obviously I hope we go for a 4 at the back with Lewis, Schar, Fede and Manquillo.

My biggest gripe about Rafa's time here is some of the choices he made with the squad. For example never giving Adam Armstrong or Mitrovic a chance in the championship, Ivan Toney less so because he was more of an unkown. Also letting Kevin Mbabu go/never giving him a chance after that performance he had against Chelsea. I've seen some Mourinho comparisons in here and I feel like this is another aspect about him where they are similar. They are never going to excel in bringing youth through the ranks because they will always favour experience even sometimes over ability. This is also one of the reasons that as much as I loved Rafa I wouldn't want him back. Bringing youth through the ranks is such an important and exciting aspect of the game.

I think if he consistently performed how he did against brentford and Norwich, a lot of teams in the prem would start him. Considering he's been our best player in 2 of our last 3 games I would prefer to replace other positions before him.

At the end of the day although most owners of PL clubs are not angels. We can't really deny that ours are the worst. The independent regulator wouldn't have considered the extra investment into the league as a factor like the PL did. Even if the independent regulator was making the decision though, surely they wouldn't be able to deny PIF without looking at the owners of the rest of PL clubs. I think everyone would agree that no other Club wanted the takeover to go through for obvious reasons. But it's also obvious that they shouldn't have the power to do things like block takeovers or target a specific club by denying them sponsorship deals. In this sense an independent regulator makes sense. If an independent regulator decides it is in the best interests of the league to make FFP stricter this could screw us and keep the "big 6" where they are. I don't think any of us could really predict how an independent regulator would try to make the league more fair. Maybe they would try to make it more similar to the NBA? If you were the independent regulator tasked with maintaing the integrity of English football (is that the purpose of an indepndent regulator?), what would you guys do?

If we were to go down Howe would have us playing the sexiest football the championship has ever seen.
-
Has Joelinton done an interview since Howe came in? If so could someone post the link please?
-
Anyone think we might benefit from a rebuild year in the championship? As long as the consortium don't decide to sell us to some cowboys if we get relegated

So this is what it feels like to actually enjoy watching a football match. Heart attacks may become a more common occurrence at St James Park under Howe though
-
Tbf this is just my assumption as Howe started to favour the 3-4-3 towards the end of his Bournemouth reign. Anything is possible I guess.
-
I think they'll be playing like Aldi versions of Reece James and Chilwell in Tuchels 3-4-3
-
It's a 3-4-3 with Ritchie and Murphy wingbacks
-
Will be interesting to see who out of Tindall or Jones actually takes charge.
-
How the fuck is Shelvey gonna press for 90 mins
-
I love Mitro but surely he wouldn't be ideal for an Eddie Howe team where the team needs to be a well drilled unit working hard and pressing.

Does this guy actually know anything? Hasn't he been wrong about loads of stuff?

I completely agree with this and these are my feelings exactly. At the same time I find it funny how few of us made our position on this clear before the takeover happened. Before the takeover was confirmed I saw very few posts (from our fans) speaking about the terrible terrible people that were trying to buy the club. I guess it just shows how desperate we were to be rid of Ashley and have some hope again.

It's difficult for them to compete for trophies this season because Ole managed a top 3 squad in the world to where they are at right now What he did to Van de Beek and what he is well on his way to doing to Sancho is a disgrace. He signed CR7 and Varane, that should demand immediate success. If he's playing two 35+ year olds at striker with Rashford, Greenwood, and Sancho on the bench that would suggest all he cares about is immediate results. I watched Man U vs City and they looked like Bruce's Newcastle What is Ole's excuse? Pep got 100 points in the Premier league with Delph at LB, Klopp got to a CL final with Lovren and Karius.

I don't think people are obsessed but just genuinely baffled at man u fans support of a manager who is clearly not good enough. A lot of them have even convinced themselves that they wouldn't have taken Conte and even that there is literally not one manager out there right now that can do a better job than Ole

This account is well worth a follow, really knows his stuff about tactics.

It's a tough one because we need our wingers to track back, which ASM doesn't do. Remember that game where we got destroyed by Lamptey and ASM just couldn't defend against Lamptey to save his life. He ended up sulking and getting subbed off I believe. If it was Almiron on that left side tracking Lamptey I'm certain he would have done a miles better job shutting him down. I guess this is where we have to trust Howe to get the tactics right and adjust for the opposition which he often does. The game Bournemouth beat Conte's Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford bridge was the first time they had played 3-4-3 and Howe did it to match them and press their wide CB's.

Makes me more comfortable about our manager search. Villa are a way more attractive prospect than us, their squad is miles ahead of ours and don't forget they aren't afraid of spending money either. But, their shortlist is about on par with our shortlist.

The funny thing about Ole is that you only hear the excuses for why he's not a terrible manager. You don't hear many reasons for why he is a good manager. Would any other club in the premier league take Ole after he leaves Man U?
