I mean ASM has like 5 less assists in 30 less games so it's more the finishing that differentiates them. All round game is different but similarly effective (they can both drift in and out of games/form and I think some supporters might get frustrated at Barnes playstyle as they do Maxi's). Good signing if it happens but not sure where that leaves Willock/Joe/Gordon/ASM or Anderson when it comes to minutes at LW.

Also I didn't criticise anything, I suggested that, in response to a comment about being business savvy and ruthless in getting rid of ASM, we might want to instead focus on removing some of the dead weight leftover from pre-takeover. It's a bit of nonsense thinking we're going to get 2/3 quality players from the supposed £35 million he'd bring in. Yes he's a saleable asset, no the money gained likely won't get you someone of a similar level. Keep and play, shouldn't really be a consideration unless a better winger falls into our lap.

Glad it's finally signed and sealed. Great potential and seems like a very well negotiated price too. Super hyped to see how he integrates into our press heavy midfield and what his chemistry will be like with Trippier/Bruno/Willock in particular.

Bit harsh on Willock given his more recent performances, and we need the rotation anyway with the extra cup games. I'd expect everyone to get regular game time so we don't have a situation where they're running on empty come March. Your depth options after that being Anderson and hopefully one more, which injuries notwithstanding isn't a bad spread.
