    NUFC Transfer Rumours

They have an egregious amount of incoming revenue. We do not. Man Utd have the income of a small country and Chelsea have a second 25 man squad of players, two or three of which they sell for £40/50M every year.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Perhaps it's worth thinking that's the reason why we aren't spending this January rather than it being an excuse for why we should be spending. We overspent a combined maybe £30M/£40M on Wissa/Elanga and Ramsey. Hence we have nothing left to give.
  3. That's a problem for us to solve. Not an excuse for us not to solve it.
  4. Every manager has to deal with problems, whether that's in the summer window, winter window, international breaks or just a random Thursday in February. It's not much of an excuse to just say the summer was turbulent or that our preparation was ruined by one single player. Having said all that I do think Howe has dealt with it as well as he could have done. It's not all entirely on him as to whether we sign players or not and I'd suspect he has less say than we all think he does.
  5. Palace losing out on 45M to finish 11th again. Smart move lads.
  6. That's a great goal though.
  7. That's exactly my point. They are very good this year but are one of the least interesting, least attractive Prem clubs. It's better than drawing Wigan or Hull but of all the Prem clubs they could have got it's shit for them IMO.
  8. I disagree. Being at home is obviously good for them but of all the Prem teams to draw they might be the worst. They'll beat Macclesfield fairly comfortably.
  9. So the chances are we're going to have to play Prem teams all the way to/and including the final if we want to win it.
  10. Watch us get Man City away Edit: well that's almost as bad.
  11. They've also got a shit squad. They can scrape together a good XI but beyond that they are very poor. Also, where's the academy players? Who's the last genuinely decent Premier League footballer to come from Spurs youth set up? That says a lot about where their priorities have been the last decade.
  12. Anyone else think his voice is somewhat ridiculous? Sounds like he's got a tiny throat.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Would seem fairly ridiculous after another injury in the backline to not do something about it. But I'm also not hopeful at all that the club will. I know it's not just a case of bringing forward any plans we had for the summer but surely there's a CB we'd have been looking at bringing in post season that's available even if the price is a bit higher than it would be come June.

    Harvey Barnes

Play him on the right then if that's the only reason he's there. I really like Gordon but he's no undroppable purely based on his pressing, especially as our pressing this season is far below what it has been in previous seasons.
  15. It is a minor miracle that he ever came through any youth set up with the way he hits a ball and moves around the pitch. But here we are and he's perhaps the most important player we've had in the last 3/4 years.
  16. He has no technique at all in most aspects of how he strikes a ball, whether it's shooting or passing and I think that's the biggest problem. Most of the time it doesn't matter because if it comes off no one notices but when it goes wrong it's so obvious. It goes even further than that actually, I remember a couple of years ago he spoke (or someone spoke about him) about receiving training on his running style to help him get around the pitch better. He's very unique in most of what he does and how he does it which is what makes him so special but also why he often looks ungainly/ awkward or like he's running through treacle.
  17. He's OK, it's good he's only on loan but I'm entirely indifferent towards him and his performances. He won't be signed permanently because Howe clearly favours Pope. I could see an completely new GK group by the start of next season. Aside from Gillespie, I imagine he'll be here forever.
  18. Exactly what we didn't need today. But it continues the winning run so that's something at least.
  19. 😂 😂 Good grief these Everton penalties are giving that keeper a god complex.
  20. Some awful penalties from Everton so far...

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Partly because Tripps had Bruno on his side helping control the play. Hall has Joelinton, he's never going to be able to do what Bruno does on the ball in terms of bringing others into the game and providing spaces/passing opportunities.
  22. Surely this is the game to try out Woltemade in the 10. 4 2 3 1 is what I'm hoping for.
  23. In terms of gap between teams yes. Overtaking I think Lincoln City beating Burnley a decade or so ago.
  24. Great stuff from Macclesfield.
